Go to your nearest off-licence and ask the lads sitting outside drinking cider from a blue bottle if they can help. They will have done it many times.

Yeah but the boot release is usually built into the ignition on scoot's

I locked my keys in my scooter once, but luckily I managed to pull my jacket through the edge of the seat and get them Very Happy

If it's anything like my scooter and it opens off the ignition key, there is an adjuster for the cable. All you have to do is take the front panel off, adjust the cable so it tightens up the cable and it opens the lock.

Thats a yamaha design as far as i know chives, Stalkers will have a seperate cable lock, start taking panes off, find the cable, simply pull it and retrieve your keys, and for fuck sake dont listen to wilson123, thats your last resort which i've yet to hear anyone use with half a fuckin brain cell. as other people have previously said

the lock is cable operated
try put you hand underneath where the lock is and feel for a cable
if you find it just pull it and it should unlock the seat

if not then just take of the panels and you'll definitely find the cable

You're the idiot if you think that cutting a hole in the seat to retrieve some keys is a good idea when the lock can be opened quite easily. Thumbs Down

Find a bit of stiff wire, coat hanger if nothing else. bend the end into a hook. Feed it under the seat and try to pull the cable to the boot lock.

Is the lock to yours near to the rear seat?

On my boys Peugeot I managed to create a gap big enough to get my hand under the seat just by pulling the seat up. Maybe you can get a magnet in there and pull the keys out?

On the scoots I've worked on you need to get the seat open before you can remove the plastic trim.

Laughing I was going to add that but then thought "Nah, too obvious". You might find that a similar key that fits the lock and jiggled about a bit will open it.

this happened to me, various people told me they'd need to drill the lock out, or take all the faring off to get to the cable. But the best option is to lift the seat as best as possble there is quite a bit of give. Insert a small crowbar or very strong slim metal bar that cannot bend and insert it into the gap between the seat and the body and push down real hard. The seat came open so quickly it slammed back down again and locked. I repeated it and sure enough the seat opened again. The lock has not broken and the seat lock still works.

There is a slight interior damage to the plastic lining of the seat and a small dent on the frame of the seat inside, but this is invisible when the seat is locked. Good luck

Thankyou for thread revival with an apparent 'how to' of crowbarring your seat off Shocked Rolling Eyes Laughing
