Just bought one of these clicky sounds a brilliant idea and simple to instal.
The kids next door love to play in the street and love to drive me mad. I am dead scared that one of them will be in my huge blind spot when I reverse the van out.

Reverse your van in then drive out. Just some blue sky thinking outside the box. Laughing

Of course it does! I will let you know how good it is when it turns up. Reversing vans is a nightmare IMHO and I have just bought a set of reversing sensors. It was whilst looking for these I found the bulbs.

It should fit standard indicator sockets and bikes with single filament brake light bulbs.

Was thinking of getting my brother and putting one in the high level brake light bulb on the Toyota.

Judging by the description on the gay of E, it replaces one of the reversing lights with a 'beeper'. It seems to me that it doesn't light up, and it is going on the assumption that you have 2 reversing lights (so one lights up, the other one beeps)

Which is quite a good idea, provided that you have 2 reversing lights to start with, a lot of the newer cars/vans or whatnot only have 1 reversing light, the other side is generally a fog light Razz

Been googling.

It has a beeper internally and a 20w halogen capsule bulb on the end of it.

Cue shouts of "could land a jumbo jet in there mate" or "you'd get a bus through there". Wink

I always have a chuckle to myself when those 3.5t courier vans are reversing in the yard with louder reversing beepers than some of the trucks.

My dads latest car has reversing sensors, and in a similar fashion to the sat nav, he has become dependant upon them. They are not a good idea at all in my opinion.

To be honest I find the van much easier to drive backwards, the mirrors are better, you sit higher, the corners are squarer and easier to see, I can be much more precise with it.

I made a hash of the parallel park on my car test, and have got no better in a car since. Laughing Give me a van anyday.

I used to love driving the 3.5t Luton vans at work. So easy to reverse.

I'm one of these people who were natural at reversing. The parallel park is easy.

I have never got the grasp of parallel parking at all. Never even tried it in the Land rover but I do have a try in the van but sensors would help. I did a PP the other day and thought I was very close to the car behind, when I got out and looked the gap was about four foot. Mr. Green

I love teaching people how to reverse, 90% of the time faults are down to speed and observations. people go too fast and don't look enough.

When reversing a LWB transit, the procedure was to hang my head out of drivers window and look back, passenger does same.

"Am I near anything?"

"Yes"

*Slams on!*, said passenger then smashes head on window frame Laughing

I like driving big vans, just not had enough practice reversing.

I had one of those bulbs in a transit, I could hear it inside when reversing, outside however was a different matter!

Poor show. Thumbs Down

You get +10 points for reversing over one of them.

+5 more if they're wearing any burberry gear (which, since you live in Beeeeem'in'am, is very likely Razz)

When going under low bridges, passenger should put hand out of window and give the side of the van a thump. Mr. Green

Rule 201

Do not reverse from a side road into a main road. When using a driveway, reverse in and drive out if you can.

I personally find it easier to reverse looking into the mirrors as you can see both sides at once. Found I fairly quickly got used to it in the van; a lot less to think about than with a trailer (I about got comfortable doing it with a trailer just before buying a van!)
Reversing lights don't actually work on my van so I am that bit extra careful.

Yeah I prefer reversing smaller stuff that way, just struggle judging how long the van is from using the mirrors.

I got used to it too. In the car I reverse the same way using the mirrors. If it's dark, I use the foglights for added illumination. Works really well in unlit carparks.

As for the reversing light thing, use the hazards.

How I reverse a trailer

Drive forward to near where you want to end up, get out and unhitch trailer along with bike. Push to where you want it to be. With help from bystander reverse van roughly in direction of trailer, when close get out and drag trailer to van and hitch back up.
Am I gay?
