Hi people , can i iron my suite jacket?

I have a nice fancy suited and booted doo next weekend and last time i wore my suite i was drunk and threw my jacket in the bottom of my wardrobe .

So now its kinda pretty creased , can i iron it? its only a cheap one from matalan i think it cost like 40 quid for the full suite.

Ive been told i gotta take it to dry cleaners but it costs like 20 quid! and im a bit broke...

Any of you wise men got any tips on how to get creases out?

Thanks.

Hot, hot shower on and hang suit in steamy bathroom for a while, or just turn the steam on the iron and try and steam by hand.

I wouldn't iron it.

Hang it up nicely and do what's suggested above ^ would be my advice. If you find that hasn't done the trick then you could use the iron over something else with the suit inside out ie. a clean white handkerchief, but I reckon it would be the last resort and make sure the iron's not on too high, as chances are the suit is manmade materials and they don't like hot irons!

If you're lucky KittyKat will be along to impart her superior clothes cleaning knowledge Thumbs Up

Wear it over your arm and the creases will not show.

KittyKat has gone out on the bike for the weekend, not sure when she'll be back (may of been today, maybe tomorrow).

I'll check the north section and report back Razz

stand in the shower wearing the jacket holding the hot iron, either it will get all the creases out or make you not care.

If it's really badly creased and you do need to run the iron over it, use a fairly cool iron and put a damp teatowel between the suit and the iron. This will stop it going shiny and generates lots of steam.

I do know a bit about textiles ( we teach it) it is not known by many people that clothes often have a label in them that tells you the material and how to wash/iron them.

At 40 quid it should just say "buy another one".
I hate wearing suits, they make short people like me look even shorter.
