I sold my ER5, my 1st big bike after passing my test 3.5 years ago.

I feel really quite upset about it. Its weird.

I had so much fun and I had countless adventures. I rode her daily.

i've never sold anything that i use daily before, but i'm sure if you sell a vehicle that you have had for a few years, it will make you a little sad. i guess a bike is more personal than a car in some ways. it's a me and my bike feeling if you know what i mean. if you sell it and have nothing else to ride on, it must be worse.

im going to be the same, only had the rvf for around 10 months but love it to bits, yes its a pain in the ass at times and is a nightmare to work on sometimes but its my first bike and iv'e barely had a chance to use it due to shitty summer and working all the time.

on the plus side it means i can go bike shopping soon

I cried when my bike was brought back to me, battered & bashed on the back of a trailer. I don't think I could bear to ever part with him, yes he even has a name Funny, I have never been so attached to anything else before, but I feel as if the bike is a big part of me and who I am.

I'm dreading selling my YBR for these reasons. Hopefully the missus will want to learn to ride (she seems interested) so she can have it and that would be my excuse for not selling the bike that's got me through my test and taught me how to ride.

I get very attached to my bikes. But do not have this with cars. Cars are cars are cars.

If the bike has been reliable and has taken me all over on trips and holidays then it becomes like an old friend. When I sold my Suzuki GS550E back in 1984 it had been a good friend and had taken me all over the place. It was my first big bike and I loved it. I was heartbroken when it went.

I got very attahed to one of my first bikes and to this day I want it back still, (and i know who owns it I just need the money) But I actually cried selling it I wish I never. Now someone has wreaked it even more but I would still have it back so I could look after it. We had a special bond.

I recently got back from other a month on the continent with my GPZ500. sold her for £400 to some guy from Poland.

I'm now back in the UK unemployed and unable to afford a new bike.

Looking for a job asap so I can save up and get a ZX6R f/g/j when the first snow hits the ground.

To be honest I know how you feel. I got very attached to my little pristine CG, did THOUSANDS of miles with her, but when she was stolen and trashed I didn't just claim on the insurance as a write off like I should have.... I've spent a LOT of money (relatively) getting her back to where she used to be. Weeell.... she's road legal anyway. I just can't let go. The bike feels even more special now as I've done so much of the work on it myself.

Engine still sounds like crap with a serious amount of power lost but ah well.... it's an on going project.

Last year, I made the wise choice to flog the DR after the accident. I wasn't so bothered until I felt a lump in my throat as I helped to load her into the guys van. As he drove off I actually started to cry, not little tears and a sniffle, actual full on blubbering!!!

Call me a tart but I truly loved that bike, it allowed me to do so many things I had always wanted to do and it was the only bike I have ever been upset over.

I have regretted it every day since and will do for a very long time...
