So what is your most meaningful song?

State the song or songs and why Wink

Mine is: The Verve - The Drugs Don't Work

This is because it is just one of them songs that makes you stop and think. I have listened to it during some of the hardest times in my life.

Iris - Goo Goo Dolls is also up there Smile This is for the same reason.

So tell us BCF.

Happy in the meantime, by Lit.

It helped me get through a very bad patch in my life.

There are so many but Probably Puff Daddy and Faith Evans, I'll be missing you. We played it at the funeral for our twin boys and I know it will always choke me up when I hear it.

Ditto with goo goo dolls actually,

Iris, and Acoustic #3,

Kelly Clarkson - Beautiful disaster (acoustic version)

and also Biffy Clyro - Machines, all to do with my ex boyfriend who i love far too much, but sadly stuff that you want to work rarely does, no matter how much you wish for it. I am a person who listens to music and very much relates to lyrics, if I listed all the songs that mean something to me then I would be writing for a while.

Sweet Child / Think About You - Guns N Roses..Reminds me of a certain person...

Time Of Your Life - Green Day...Would like it played when my time comes...

As Lofty has said in her last sentance though, I'm the same... Thumbs Up

Iris is indeed a class track.

There are two I can think of off the top of my head. "Right where it belongs" by NIN, jaw dropping lyrics and the tune isn't bad (the semi acoustic very stripped version at the end of the "With teeth" album is the best). No real association with events, just one of those rare songs you hear and it clicks.

The other -somewhat less emo- is "How bizarre". A song forever linked with lazy summer afternoons and a small bunch of friends on the banks of the Thames. Never fails to make me smile.

I have quite a few.

Marillion- Great Escape

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1x9vr-Mg_M

Just a beautifully sad song, when i'm feeling blue i always listen to this.

Marillion- Hollow Man

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erxZ_1JtEdA

Another one of my depressive songs, but is how i've felt a few times in my life. In fact its how i feel right now.

Marillion- Warm Wet Circles

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GD3jr7-5yg

Another great song by one of my favorite bands. Again something i'm listening to quite a lot right now; i've been creating quite a few of my own warm wet circles recently.

Keane-Bedshapped

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGzW2MwVssI

I love this song, in fact it rates in my top songs. Reminds me of my college days, first proper love of my life, first proper heartbreak.

I could go on and on but that will do.
Cheers,
Shaun.

frightened rabbits - poke

met a gorgeous american girl whilst i was visiting NY this year in march for paddys day.

She played this amongst other songs in the morning and whenever i play it, it reminds me of her

good memorys!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVuur7aTX8w&feature=related

hope you like it as much as me!

edit: i tend to find songs i once really really liked while with somebody, after i break up with them they just get on top of me so i stop listening to them. so prefer to listen to songs that relate to happy memorys

Crying or Very sad thats an awful tragedy

edit: and listening to it just brought a tear to my eyes, where a girl i loved tried to do the same thing earlier this year.

It makes me sad to hear about things like that.
But what brought this thread on is because of a death.

A guy who used to go to my school got killed a week ago. His fiancee's dad accidently crushed him when reversing a tractor. He never even knew it happened and it was 4 hours before they found him.

The fiancee went missing for 4 days and her father is a wreck. It's his funeral today and I dread to think what will happen afterwards.

I agree with Goo Goo Dolls song as well, always been my favourite song.

Daughtry - All these lives

Got me through a rough patch when my 'rents split up 2 years ago, hit me hard and i became a bit of a loner that summer because of it. Certain part of it that got me through was the chorus:

"All these lives that you've been taking,
Deep inside, my heart is breaking.
Broken homes from separation.
Don't you know it's violation?
It's so wrong, but you'll see.
Never gonna let you take my world from me"

Reminded me that no matter what, i had my own life to live and i wasn't gonna let the split take my happiness and social life away from me.

Kings of Leon - Use Somebody

Was played at my mates funeral in January, went through secondary school with him in his form for 5 years. Died on his R6 so it felt as if it could have been me. R.I.P Luke.

I don't have just one. . . Plenty of songs remind me of different eras in my life.

Elaine Page - Memories - Reminds me of my childhood, Mum used to listen to that stuff in her car.

Levellers - England my Home - Reminds me of my detatched teen years, I was a bit of a hippy (still am)

Bens Brother - Bad Dream - I'm not sure who it's about (in my world), but I love it.

Plenty plenty others for different occasions. . .

Terry Jacks - Seasons in the sun
Pearl Jam - Alive
Metallica - One
Shiveree - Goodnight moon

Love songs that paint pictures Smile

Right . . . . day to self . . . BIKE ! Hand
