BCF cheer me up.

Split up with the g/f 'cause she's majorly changed for the worse. Got made redundant, but got a new job where I don't fit in ( building computers... I don't like gaming, I like daylight...) and the monies are poo.

Hence some of you may recall me considering Aus for a while, but I need to be happy with me before I go and right now I'm really not.

Plus I ain't really sleeping.

Well you still have your bike? Your bike represents FREEDOM. It can faithfully take you hundreds of miles from home to let you see the most amazing sights and meet up with like minded people that love to explore and seek the adventure in life.

I like long rides when ever I'm feeing a bit down anyway - I always seem to have friends in other parts of the country that feel like a breath of fresh air.

Definitely know how you are feeling though. I've had some pretty hard break ups before and I'm so sorry that you're doing what you are. I worked in a computer shop for 4 years and grew to despise my customers. Good luck

In my experience a lot of things can seem rubbish and overwhelming if you're tired. Try to stop worrying, as it's probably your troubled mind that's keeping you awake and get some good sleep and you'll be surprised how much better life seems.

Think most of it is lack of sleep. Just can't. Maybe had 8 hours in the past three days and I usually get that per night.

Ride my bike everyday. Helps. Also going to the gym 3x a week, eating properly etc. Tried to tire myself out so I can sleep but that doesn't work either.

Applied for a new job last night. Deleted the ex from my fakebook, as I don't really want to hear about the new "relationship" she's in or status updates etc.

Doin everything I can think of, yet I'm still miserable and I still can't sleep.

Maybe I'll turn emo, buy some candles and write some poetry.

Thinking about dealing with things is far worse than dealing with them.

If you don't like your job, speak to you boss about altering it (if poss), or start looking for an alternative job.

As for the girl, its always emotional at the time, but really, it wont be soon, you need to look at what you can learn from it and see it as a good thing anyway.

I'm not depressed, but I have a 'change' coming up and some things ot sort, I was a bit worried about it all, but now, I'm looking at it as an opportuity to change a couple of things for the better (job/finances), even tho along the way, Its going to be slightly harder. . it will be worth it come the spring.

Write a list of how you would like things, then work backwards to see how you can best start to get there.

And remember, nothing happens overnight.

Organize a weekend out with your mates, do loads of drugs, consume copious amounts of alcohol, go to some shitty club which turns out to be quite good due to the excellent company you keep, get your willy wet with some slapper making sure you wear a cap. Follow this with a nice big fry up the following morning and much reminiscing of the antics which took place the previous night and a good moan about other stuff, then finish the evening with a good DVD.

If this fails then go to Auz, a brickie friend of mine has been out there for the last 8 months (left for similar reasons to yourself) and is having the time of his life. Only problem is you might not come back! My best mates older brother went out their for a long holiday in 1998, he has since not been back to the UK....

Think positive, of the good stuff. You did an awesome ped tour. You have a bike. I'm assuming you have some good mates.

I know drink isn't the answer, but can help temporarily - I would suggest sitting your arse down somewhere comfy with a DVD box set of something that makes you laugh (either Spaced, Black Books or Carry On for me ) some nice booze that tastes nice and some nice food.

Avoid listening to either R.E.M or Damien Rice! Music can really affect mood, make sure it's summit jolly or bouncy.

Finally don't expect your misery to go overnight. All the above are temporary measures, getting out of feeling really down takes time and you hardly realise once you have, because you're not sat feeling miserable!

I'm listening to alot of placebo, and alot of free. Probably not good.

Trouble also is, most of the 'good stuff' that I enjoy is expensive, and I've not alot of cash at the moment.

Make plans. Get yourself a load of books from the library, use the net, and browse through things you might like to do in Oz...sort of like a project. That should keep your mind occupied for a while, whilst giving you an idea of where you might like to go and why.

Plus, check out what people like Sparks! are doing on the South East forum, and join in. The Emsworth thing on Sunday isn't far, and is free by all accounts. Getting out and meeting 'new' faces might help give you something new to think about.

Don't worry about the job. Think about it as money only. It's what puts juice in the tank and will fund your Oz mission in the future.

Find another hobby. Immerse yourself in that (like learning a new language)...

Day off work today so I'm going for a ride. Maybe somewhere with wide-ranging views over much of the West Sussex Weald , and then going to go climbing for the first time in about 18 months.

Definitely another for the rock climbing!

Things that take your complete concentration are great as you can't worry about all the rubbish stuff and really do the 'living in the moment' which is so good for you!
