Popped to the chippy at lunchtime on the bike, sat outside was a "yoof" sat astride a rather shabby RS125.
As I took my lid of he came up to me and started talking bikes. After the usual "how fast it go mister" and "my dads got a ducati" the conversation went like this:-

Him:- Your bike sounds rough, its on 3 cylinders mate.
Me:- Nah its running on 2.
Him:- Its fooked then, want me to look at it? Im a scooter mechanic.
Me:- If you can get it to run on 4 cyclinders I will give you a grand.
Him:- Are you serious?
Me:- Yep, deadly serious. It only has 2 cylinders. Its a V twin.

Never have I seen someone blush as much as he did!

Life doesn't hold that many moments of pure undiluted joy but I'm guessing that was one of them.

I would have paid good money to see his face Laughing

Its incredible the shit people will come out with when they talk to you about bikes.... especially those who know jack shit about bikes.
I've had....

"I used to have a Yamaha Fireblade"

"My mate has a BMW" which model is that then ? "The fast one"

"I'm thinking about buying a Kawasaki GPSXZ, they can do over 200MPH you know"

When I had my 1800 Goldwing I was outside a special needs school with other members of the local Goldwing owners club where we were donating a cheque. My missus had come on her bike.

This twat came walking past and said, 'whos is the superbike'. Which bike says I. The black one says twatty, pointing at my wifes bike.

I laughed, among all these Wings, his superbike was a 650 bandit

I'd have loved to have seen his face! Would probably just have burst out laughing in front of him.

That would have pleased me, I may have let him look to see what he would actually physically try to do.

lol some people are just pathetic.
Always get snot nosed chavs asking the same 3 questions if they ever talk to you about bikes.
How big is it ? How fast does it go? How much did it cost ya?
Chances of speaking to anyone that actually has a clue is very remote these days.

They only ask that so they know:

How heavy it is to shift and the manchav power needed.
How much they can try getting out of it before they kill themselves.
How much it's worth or they can flog it for to buy their next pack of fags and bottle of alcopops and can of petrol.

Only just remembered this, sat at a set of lights a few months back and two lads pull up right next to me and the driver started talking across to me, can't really hear what he's saying, so I just kept pointing at the helmet in a " Can't hear you " fashion but I got the jist of " Is that a thou' mate ? "...

Cue me looking round at the side of the bike to where there's a big SV1000S sticker right at his level...

Cue him going " Oh yeah sorry ", then he wound his window up as he went red...

had some chav flat try and deny that the KTM was faster than My 50's dommie....... "cause that ones louder".
i'd had both running as i was trying to sort the norton fueling and the ktm had a rattle from the exhaust (which turned out to be the baffle that had disintergrated).

Needless to say they all got chained together that night
