On Friday I have an assessment thingy to be a childrens holiday rep.

For the interview, I have to design and bring "a child friendly name badge that reflects your personality"

I've thought of a few ideas but I'm not really to sure what I can do.

Any ideas please?

um.. it really depends what your personality is and I've no idea! Laughing

but kiddie things.... keep it colourful and simple. Anything that you'd say was 'you', if you can style it in that way would work (for example, a motorbike would work if it was simple and colourful!)

or flowers, a butterfly, any animals, toys..

:edited to add, it also depends on the ages of the kids you're going to be dealing with!:

Bright, primary colours, no sharp edges

How about one made out of that stress foam stuff?

(oh, and spell your name right - always helps...)

I asked my kids for suggestions.

Kids react to shape and colour. They suggested a round badge big enough to see. Painted with the colours of the rainbow. The rainbow should go accross the badge because going straight up makes you look big. Your name in big bold letters.

Going to ask my kids now why my bike is misfiring !!!!

Hope this helps.

In the shape of a motorbike - kids think its wicked if you're a girl that rides a motorbike, will give you lots of things to talk about too!

Just my suggestion but.

A big round yellow sun with a smiley face done with a bold black marker, and your name on the bottom. Bit like a Emoticon. Shows you as being bright, smiley and happy but it must be a large badge.

Thats what I think anyway.

Regards

Andy

Something that is child friendly but also reflects Hannah's personlity... how about 2 buckets and one spade?

The kid can have fun with one bucket and spade diggin a hole whilst you puke in the other bucket then pour it into the hole after, win! Dance!

How about something 'interactive' like a teddy where you pull the string on the bottom and his arms move? Fairly simple to make with those paper fastener things, shows your creative side and that you want to interact with the children.
I don't know you so don't know if that reflects your personality, but thought it might be a good idea!

Thanks guys, some good ideas there. Very Happy Karma
I'll have a think.

Other ideas I got were-

A tiger-saying that: I'm raring to go
I'm alert
I'm bright

A flower- for the bright colours, with one letter of my name
on each petal.

A train- saying that I can work as part of a team like the carriages
on the train.
I can also work alone-like the train.

A jelly baby- saying that I'm bright, bouncy, flexible etc

I've been trying to think what to make it out of. My mum suggested that Flymo (modelling clay stuff). Not too sure though.

What do you think?

Make it out of foam,if you get the thin stuf you could cut out other colours to stick on, i,e letters, and you can draw on it easily enough.
Use a clip, not a safety pin, 'safety concious'
You should be able to get them at any craft shop.

Best thing to make badges out of are soft plastic melt-able bead type things.

You can lay out your design, put a piece of greaseproof paper over the top and iron it. This melts the beads and makes a really solid, colourful lump....

What about making a badge that spells out your name in flashing LEDs? Might take a while to put together and you'd have to carry a battery pack around and it /would/ look tacky.

But I reckon the kids would like it. Very Happy

Sounds good but I'd be absolutely hopeless at trying to construct anything like that-goodness knows what I'd end up with! Razz Laughing

Also, does anyone have any opinions on the suggestions I made or do they sound silly?

Tiger
Flower
Train
Jelly Baby

Thanks Smile Karma
