A year of 125s. 2nd September last year I'd purchased a very used CG125 from the Friday Ad as a laugh, for a couple of hundred quid. I had a CBR600RR at the time - I bought the CG with the idea of running it to death and probably leaving it in a hedge somewhere.

One year later, I'm still riding a CG125 engined XR... which I still don't seem to tire of. Mainly used for running the 60 miles back and forth to work, but both 125s have shown me a few 'alternative' commuting routes from time to time. Really would have wanted to travel further afield on them though, but in a way, it's been great discovering the myriad of tiny lanes, great views and interesting places in my very own back garden.

It's been a great year, more memorable than previous years on much larger machinery. Almost as if I've started riding for the first time again. I'd recommend a shit slow bike to anyone.

My XR might be going up for sale soon unfortunately, due to the fact I'm decreasing the amount of bikes I own. It's replacement is likely to be a DRZ400 (I'm parting with both the ER and 125 for it), so hopefully, as one's not too fast or powerful, the adventures and laid back feeling of chilled out goodness can continue on the way to work.

I found a big single, in my case an SRX600, brought back alot of the fun from first having a bike. Slower, lighter bikes are much nicer to ride in town and traffic, and they stop you going mental once you hit an open road. A DRZ will suit you perfectly provided you fit on it okay. Thumbs Up

I know theres definitely a lot of fun to be had in smaller bikes, eeking out the most you can Razz

Still, must be annoying to have your friends leave you on the straights Razz
