Just sittin here bored and was thinkin, how many of you have had a golden find.

a bike tucked away in some shed
rubbish to the owner but a great find to you

just interested to see what all those who love a project have come across over the years.

add photos if possible before and after etc

Hmmm

My best profit making golden finds are:--

Cb1300. Paid £1500, sold for £2700

Alpinestars "Troy Lee" Jacket. Bought for a tenner sold for £300

And my current bike.

I paid £1350 for it, and a few weeks later sold its numberplate for £1350. effectivley giving me a free bike.

otherwise id say my ts50x that was in a shed for 7 years was good, bought it for £150 and it lasted me nearly a year Very Happy

A DT 100 to learn on, £500, older than me and it lasted me until my Dad refused to take me out on it anymore. He ended up leaving it infront of his house just so that someone could steal it, eventually it got stolen and I still see the scruffy kids ragging it around a field behind what was my Dads house(is being rented by my brother).

My current bike. 07 plate yamaha dt 125 re with 1800 miles = £1,500 - I reckon I could have made at least 300 quid profit if I had sold it straight away.

Not really mine but it was my uncles, a bsa a10 in a barn in maccles field he paid £350 for it and it recently sold in exactly the same condition in which he found it for over 3k. And it still ran off the first kick of the starter.

A 5 year old Mazda 323F with 34,000 miles on the clock, found in the car park at my uni Cool

It was covered in stickers from the university threatening to have it towed away as it had been sat there for over a year so I phoned the DVLA and asked how I go about claiming it then phoned the police to check it wasn't stolen. When the oweners document came through I got the RAC out who broke into it to get the handbrake off and towed it to a Mazda dealer who programmed new keys for it (£150 odd quid, the only expense other than tax and insurance Wink

). Fresh tank of fuel later and i was driving home in the newest car I've ever owned, best of all, looked in the glove box and there was the face for the stereo. Seems the car belonged to a chinese student who must have been minted and returned home without bothering to sell the car. It had a few dents and scrapes but was basically perfect so I drove it for a while then sold it for £1700 as it was too slow for my tastes (90bhp 1.5 Rolling Eyes

) and bought my second 200SX with the proceeds.

I know it's not a bike but I think this was unbelievably lucky Laughing

Well a guy at work sold me an RD350LC and a YPVS which was seized for £1200

Sold the YPVS for £200, sold the LC for £2k.
