Hi my bike broke down with zenon light failure burning out so left bike in layby.then to add to it some thieving scum tried nicking it.the man from insurance is coming tomorrow any hint and tips on how to deal with whole situation its too much.I'm bikeless and need to be able to get to work its already been two week. am running out of ways to get to work.

Be as honest as you can with him- you dont want to hide something which may then invalidate your insurance if you need it one day Smile

In many years of insurance claims I've never spoken to an assessor. In fact, in the majority of cases, I've not even seen them. Just let him get on with it.

He will make his own mind up on the value of the bike and the cost of the damage without the slightest interest in your opinion. Save the 'discussion' for later with the insurance company.

Hi he came today but I was at work.he was rude as hell to my mrs.complaining he couldn't do anything as he couldn't start it!I guess this happens when there no ignition barrel!it was left thatvi get a quote from triumph! I rang then up and it shoul# come in at over a grand without the broken nose fairing which I forgot to add!
I guess this means they gonna fix it or write it off?any ideas on how long this may take?

Wish me luck and cheers for advice guys

    If he was rude, make a written complaint to your insurance company copying it to the insurance ombudsman. Get them on the defensive.

    depends on how much its worth and what year it is etc if its only worth about 1.5k then will write it off probs but good luck with what ever happens
