Ever run over a pedestrian?

I was riding through town the other night about 1am and a drunk guy spotted a taxi and jumped out into the road infront of me to hail it down, not much I could do but wipe him out, managed not to come off luckily and plenty of witnesses said it was his fault so it was all fine with the police

Anyone else done anything similar?

Some stupid, worthless old biddy walked out in front of me once, directly after looking STRAIGHT AT ME IN BROAD DAYLIGHT with her hand shielding above her eyes as if to say "I'm on the lookout for danger". Well, her training didn't pay off but luckily I was only doing 25 and safely moved to avoid her, and waited the five hours it took her to cross her path. She still didn't see me even when I stopped right beside her. Obviously some daft old bint been let out for the day 'cos her kids don't want her getting in the way while they spend all their dole money on online bingo.

Having knocked over two pedestrians I consider myself somewhat an expert.
One was an old woman coming from behind a bus when I was on a 125cc, the second some years later was a 15 year old lad who I hit with an Africa Twin. Both were messy, both were not my fault.
one of the facts I have observed is that 15 year old lads scream more than old women.

I put an old granny in hospital in Tokyo (she stepped out from between cars) and took a school-girl off her bicycle in Kyoto when I hooned around a cross-road junction and found her scooting over the pedestrian-crossing. Fucked my suit and bike (cosmetic), her bike flew onto the bonnet of a limo but she was just bruised. Luckily I was taken out by a 4x4 a couple of weeks later and the damage caused when I hit the girl got lumped in with the damage caused by the 4x4, which was also cosmetic. I ended up with around Y800,000 in cashola.

i ran over a 6 year old a few years back on a push bike,my back wheel ran her head over the situation wasent a fun one.

had 5 teenage fools run out on me blocking the road a few weeks after i done my cbt and was just starting to get the hang of it almost hit a car in avoidance,really made me angry and as i knew the lane they were going down i didt double back catch them coming head on dive on the breaks just in time and take one out at about 20mph causing me to go fucking flying only to get up and stamp as hard as i possibly could on his face with motor cross boots because that would of been bad.

Once in scarborough some learner driver stopped in the middle of the road, i filtered past, not seeing the learner had actually stopped to randomly let someone cross the road. Im still not sure why they did it because if they did than on a test that would be an instant fail!

he walked out, i didnt see him until it was too late, and i took out his shopping bag. i turned round to see him picking up his shopping.

I've had some dick run out in front of me on Edgware road.

Fortunately only doing about 20, swerved but my armoured elbow went straight through his jaw and knocked him flying.

Pulled over, the guy was sparco, waited for the rozzers and wambulance to turn up where I had a quick 5-monute chat and was sent on my way.

i ran over a woman when i was 18 in pretty mint mk.3 escort. she literally walked out into the middle of my lane in a 2 way road about 2am. i hit her doing about 40mph (impact speed), seen her and braked from about 60mph max. this was a country lane pitch black about a mile from the nearest houses. i can only conclude she was trying to kill herself, didnt get chance to ask her (lol ). although i locked up under braking, the copper said i did well to keep it on the road, there are 2 deep ditches either side of this fairly narrow country lane.

she wrecked my car & i couldnt do a thing about it. physically i was ok but not mentally. it affected me for sometime after, i couldnt drive down that road w/o almost panicking for atleast 6 months.

the thud when i hit her, the hair, the blood that was left on my car wasn't nice. worst of all was the thud though.

I went through a red pelican crossing a while back, realised about 10 yards later what I'd done and it shook me to the bone. I'm guessing it would have been dfferent if someone was crossing - that I'd have noticed them and stopped but it makes you think. I pay a bit more attention now
I remember a mate of mine ages ago - we were practicing drag starts in a quiet car park - a toddler ran out between parked cars in front of my mate and he hit him. The toddler didn't suffer anymore than bruises but my mate suffered a lot more, he felt sick about it and sold his bike the next week.
I've ran two people over on four wheels, both their fault but still very unpleasant experiences

Something similar to the Scarborough story happened to me in Whitby, I was only doing about 5mph but setting off after stopping at lights, and a woman walked in to the side of me.
She only brushed my arm but will always remember looking in mirror and seeing her spinning round in a cartoon-like way.

I've told this one before but it does no harm repeating it.

I was riding my vintage Honda moped along an inactive bus lane while I was studying in Edinburgh.

A kid from George Herriots (a really posh public school) ran out from behind the bus shelter. I braked hard, swerved and clipped him with a handlebar. In accordance with the laws of physics of leading link suspension, he fell over and I went flying over the handlebars.

He was back up before I'd finished wearing holes in my knees. Got up, shouted and swore at him, got his details, gave him mine and took details of two witnesses.

I then dragged my moped back to my flat (wheel was badly buckled), changed my trousers and walked over to the police station where I reported the incident to a very bored desk officer.

By the time I got back, the phone was ringing. It was my Mum wondering if I was ok and had I been involved in an accident. Now my mum usually does know when I'm up to something but she was 250 miles away!

Turns out she had two coppers sat in the kitchen drinking her tea who had driven the 12 miles from the nearest police station to find out where I was so I could be charged with failure to stop and report at the scene of an accident. They'd gone there because that's where the bike was registered to.

I got them on the phone and told them the incident report number I'd been given by the police station at which point they disappointedly sloped off.

My mum did a good one and dropped the young lad right in the shit afterwards. She called his mother (she had a really posh accent when she wants to from being educated at RAF schools). Something along the lines of "I was just calling to let you know my son isn't badly hurt after the accident Michael caused earlier... What, he didn't tell you about being run over? Good job it was a moped and not a bus really, the police have only just left my house.".

Didn't get the damage paid for but my mum assured me he got a damned good clip round the earhole while she was still on the phone.

Moral of the story. You have an accident involving a pedestrian, even if they aren't hurt, tell the police straight away. Some interfering busybody obviously called the cops the second that accident happened and reported it as a hit and run. They were all set to charge me with failure to stop and report.

Ran over a total steamer on a mountain bike once. Was at the foot of a big hill (the spittle coming down towards mounthoolie for the aberdonians amongst us). I mus have been doing 20-30mph when the fuckwit just staggered into the road. Bar end hit hime smack in the forehead, i went off and tumbled about 20ft down the road. By the time i got up he was lying foaming at the mouth in the middle of the road being tended to by soem old biddy. waited around for ambulance but several people said it was otally his fault so were no charges or the like.
Turns out he was a big issue seller too. I did see him several times on Union st afterwards (complete with big gouge out of his head) but dont think he ever recognised me me thankfully although i was compelled to buy it once out of guilt!

a pedestrian caused my first accident in the first 2 weeks of riding i was going through a 30 zone, and some berk thought it would be funny to run out into the road and try and push me off as i went past. i swerved, overcooked it and laid it out, bike went up the kerb and wrapped the forks round a lamp post. fixed it within a day so wasnt that fussed, wasa bit sore after though.

also tried to run someone from my college class over on the ts because they tipped brake fluid all over it. they wrote a gpz500s off 3 weeks after they passed their test after already having 2 crashes! oh how i love karma!

Roughish neighbourhood, pedestrian crossing. As I get there a lad presses the button. Chavvy type, looked loutish and pissed. He gets halfway across the road and stops dead, turns and looks at me (think that scene in Pulp Fiction, with added burberry).

He says something which I can't make out (think it was along the lines of "Gis a go mate") and starts walking towards me. Fuck this, thinks I, and gun it. By this point he's too close to avoid without unbalancing the bike enough to make it easy for him to push me off, so I don't bother and aim straight for his bollocks. He gets the hint and steps out of the way just in time to get away with a mirror to the chest. I don't even slow down and just get the fuck out of there.

Was in a bit of a rush when I wrote the OP, I hit him at about 35/40mph I think, I attempted to swerve, good thing too or I would have hit him square and he would have come off alot worse.

He was with a big group of people, by the time I had gotten off the bike and over to where he was laying one of the group was already on the phone to the ambulance/police, the guy was up and walking before the ambulance got to him, he was given the all clear and let go home in a taxi with his mates, he shook my hand and apologised at the scene, no real damage done to the bike so I wasn't all that bothered, the police took both our details but said nothing would be done.

And chris yep im on a 20 year old honda ntv600 at the moment, 83,000 miles and counting
