If being arse raped is only as unpleasant as dishing out £30 then prison holds no fear for me.

Paid £20 for my scooter MOT a few weeks ago, not too bad I suppose but the guy didn't seem interested what so ever and sort of grunted and gave me the MOT cert. Oh well Laughing

You should try paying £54 for a car. Much more to fail on, too.

Only mugs pay that much, last Car MOT a month ago was £35. People need to shop around more instead of sticking with the same garage.

I pay £25 for my bikes and for cars. Most of my MOTS take about 30 minutes which consists of 10 minutes of checks and 20 minutes of waiting so that the computer doesn't complain.

I'm always dead suspicious of places that charge that little. Makes me think they'll be really strict and pernickety on anything borderline, as they can't be making much money on the tests so will seek to make it on repairs instead. Given that my cars are all well over 30 years old and not in the best of shape I like a sympathetic tester! Also I like to stick with older mechanics, not some 18-year-old idiot who tries to tell you your 40-year-old car won't pass as it doesn't have rear seat belts, foglights, etc. Doh!

my MOT is 27.50, if it fails its half price retest within 14 days if you fix it yourself, work carried out there makes it a free retest.
Pretty decent place and will keep using them until they shut down!!

I paid £29.50, failed on the back tyre with an oldish tester. Free retest a week later got me a different tester and a couple of extra 'advisories' that apparently "should really be fails but I can't really fail you on them since he didn't pick them up on the original test"

I pay £30 for my MOT's . Doesn't cost that much ( £23 I think ) but I always tip the guy that does it because he's amazingly cool.

The last bike I took down was the boss's KLX and he tested it by wheelying it across the yard and said yep that seems fine and chucked me the certificate.

Got to love that sort of test Thumbs Up
