Hi just got a pair of 01 cr250 forks(i believe there 01 thats what he said..anyone got any pics of 01 forks?) from ebay and the bloke said one of them needs rebuilding i thought fair enough (thought it was just seal bushings etc) but on closer inspection the damper is non existence. just a small piece of metal that has been batterd

Could i say something to him about this? or is it my bad?
also if i was to buy the gear for inside the fork where could i get these from? Im new to rebuilding forks so dont know the ins and outs.

Did he specify he had had them apart? Did he claim they were otherwise good condition apart from needing rebuilding?
It's quite possible he just said 'needs rebuilding' because it felt dodgy and he hadn't take it apart.

he just said one fork need rebuild but he did give me a partial refund. and the fork cap had obviously been undone as it was loose. Only thing i can do now really is hold on to them in case i need them as a spare part

its like saying i got an engine here it need rebuild. Not telling you that it has nothing in side or what is in there is buggerd.

It's good practice with second hand stuff to ask appropriate questions first.
Doesn't mean you won't get done over still - ie got some brake discs that they specified were road-legal - and 'no lip'. There was a massive lip as it was under the limit pressed on the rotor Rolling Eyes.
