This is me gurning nervously as I am about to set off on my first ride. I'm still struggling a bit with the extra weight over the 800, and the lack of noticeable extra power, not decided if he will stay or I'll end up keeping the 800 and selling him on, time will tell.

Last but not least, as I wobble out of the end of our road the eagle-eyed amongst you who know me well will be able to spot the personalised numberplate........ Embarassed

Nice machine. Very Happy

Do I recall reading one of your topics on VD/TRC describing some problems you were having with the 800? What happened in the end, did the mechanic admit liability?

Nah, tis just one of those things, opened it up, no visible damage, just somehow the timing was out causing the lack of compression. Confused tis still in bits, been a nightmare getting gaskets cos of it being an import and now the rubber o-ring that seals the water system on the head has snapped and it's even more of a nightmare getting another one of those..... Sad
