Thought I'd post this back up here in the hope that someone on here knows him and can find out what he is playing at.
I paid 45 quid for a shock posted in the for sale section here and he snappily took payment through paypal and promptly vanished failing to answer emails or PMs, I lucked out and landed his current mobile number.
First time I called him (last week) I got through and had a semi promising conversation, he said he had sent the shock and would get back to me with the tracking number later that day. Needless to say I got no response.
Calling him today pretty much sealed it for me as he hung up and promptly switched his phone off
Any suggestions before I go down the paypal claims route? I'm kind of hoping he can't ignore that too but I'm still happy to have the shock if he will at least explain wtf is going on with him, it's a pretty surprising turn given how long he has been here and that he has sold stuff before.

|
I'd Agree 100% if he would at least tell me what's going on, I'd have no problems hanging on if I wasn't being kept in the dark since it takes 30 seconds to just send a pm/text/email saying whatever needs to be said, I'm not in desperate need of the shock right this moment after all.
Looking back in hindsight I probably should have seen this coming, whilst we were working out a fair price I asked him for a photo of the shock which he repeatedly failed to deliver on, he cited that he had a local mate wanting the shock but that didn't have the money to hand at the time. Given his history on here and the fact that it wasn't exactly some super nigerian scam material I thought I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.
I think I've been pretty civil and reasonable. As far as a timeline goes, I sent him the money through paypal on the 17th, I didn't hear anything back so I sent him a PM on the 21st to confirm that he had received the paypal and that everything was good, he read that one but didn't reply. After that I sent another PM on the 26th stating that I was getting a bit worried about his silence and asking him to get back to me and let me know what was happening, as far as the forum software is concerned he never read that one. I then made the forum post last week, sent him an email pretty much repeating the last PM and promptly lucked out with a working phone number for him. He picked up the first call, sounded a bit paniced when I said who I was but after a bit of wobbling said that he had sent it through the post office, that it was insured and that he would get the tracking number to me later.
That was the last I heard from him till this week which pretty much went like
'Hello?'
'Heya it's Seb from BCF'
Click
I left an answering machine message for him pretty much stating that he had till the end of tommorow to straighten this out.
On the offchance he is actually reading this, I'm still more than happy to hang on for the shock if I'm kept informed, I'm not expecting some apology or next day courier nonsense, but I'd appreciate either that shock or my 45 quid sometime this year ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |

Sorry man, I'd rather not stir it up for him just yet, I'd much rather he just came here and posted a 'sorry buddy, no money to post it just yet, I'll have it in the mail next week' or whatever. He could have spent the funds on brown for all I care, as long as I know what's going on I'm happy ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |

Agreed about it's not coming mate, start a paypal dispute, if he can't provide the tracking number then Paypal will agree in your favor and refund you. Good luck. ____________________ Turbo R1

Do PayPal cover you for just sending cash to another party......
Pretty sure that they only have dispute process for purchase's via Ebay...
If it was just you sending them cash, then like anyother bank.
There is no comeback.
I suggest you get his addy from PayPal and pay a visit. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

Paypal have a dispute process outside of ebay, I got fucked over sold an MMOPRG account online (450dolla i might add) and a few days later the account reported 'unauthorised transaction' I saved all emails etc and paypal still said its their duty to give him MY money back because it was fraud.
Refused to tell me what evidence they had of the fraud though.... (yes I didn't answer in 7 days but I didnt think check paypal every couple of days FOREVER incase someone wants to steal your money...).
Buyer protection is crazy on paypal |
