Carlube 2-stroke oil

£3 (Well £2.90 with my discount card) per litre at Asda... Worth using with my DTR? If it's shit I can easily use it for the chain so it's no loss really. Cheers.

useable, but would recommend decent 2 stroke for sports/decent 125 2ts, i use it in my mini moto's tho, hasnt let me down.. but 8hp mini bikes..compared to 125 larger piston n much more power..

Fine in something like an RXS100 or other engines in a similarly low state of tune (I've used it in an RXS with no ill effects). Definitely a false economy in something like a DT, RS or Mito as you could easily blow the engine up.

They were doing Castrol Actevo (new name for Super TT I believe) for £3 not long ago, so I bought a couple of bottles. Then again I think it's mineral (or possibly semi-synth) so I still wouldn't put it in a highly-strung bike.

the actevo is the lower down in the castol range not designed for such high revving engines, the TTS is designed specifically for the higher tuned and revving engines, and halfords and the like are still supplying both actevo and TTS.
TTS for the dtr i would or another high like a moris oil.
that carlube will also smoke like a biatch i spect.

As has been said, not in a DTR, but in low state of tune bikes, perfectly fine. I used the same stuff in everything apart from my TZR and can't fault it.

And the Carlube oil smokes just as little as the Shell oil I put in my TZR. It's a myth associated with cheaper oils to make people that put £10 a litre oil in their scooter feel better

In a DTR I'd run semi-synthetic.

Ok cheers guys, I'm running semi-synthetic at the minute so I'll stick with that £8.50 a bottle at Halfrauds, so it's not too bad. I'll whack some of Carlube stuff on my chain tomorrow as it hasn't been oiled in over 700 miles

Ack, disregard the above post, it appears I'm actually a liar! I just realised the "Castrol ACT>EVO 2T" stuff I was using is actually mineral stuff I only bought it because it was the only 2-stroke oil with a picture of a motorbike on. Might explain why my bike is so smokey when I first start it. Going to try semi next time, but what should I go for? Halfrauds seem to have a limited range. Does it matter if the bottle has a pic of a moped on?

personally what id use in it imho.
