So, a couple questions for you biking Gods.
I took my GS 500 to reserve today for the first time, and I got 120 miles - is this right? I'm also not actually sure if it is restricted, I know it doesn't produce 'that' much over 33bhp, but I want to be sure without dyno'ing it - how can I tell? In fourth or fifth, it will not go over 100mph, no matter what.
Also, I've been looking at this --> https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VIPER-YAMAHA-YZF-R6-98-02-STAINLESS-EXHAUST-LINK-PIPE_W0QQitemZ300342182105QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycle_Parts?hash=item45edca00d9&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
And was wondering if I chopped my exhaust and put this on, would I be able to attach an R6 exhaust with little problems? I could adapt a bracket etc, it's just my current exhaust looks pony.
Thanks a lot kids ____________________ Journalist, student, egotist.

Also I got 125 miles to the fuel light on my SV - which is basically reserve!
Hope this helps! |

My heap of shit GS will do more than 100 no probs.
It also returns about 135-140 until the reserve.
My understanding is that the link pipe allows you to fit R6 cans. This page gives you loads more info on this. |

I usually see 150 miles before reserve out of mine. Can't say I have enough faith in my chain to try and max it out though ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |

well on a full tank, i average about..125miles out of it til reserve, but I DO open it up alot.. and rev it hard.
Mine EASILY pops over a ton..if im honest, had it right to the end on the M2, which is an indicated 130..so..maybe 120-122ish.
Older ones pumped just over 50hp, newer..97 and up i think do about 45hp-ish?
An SV will props be the next step up for me...comfy, looks nice, lots of additional mods, headlights, rear lights, feels better to me. |

I was actually gonna see how many miles i could get to reserve the other day - i usually fill up when it gets to the red. Luckily i decided to remind myself where the fuel tap was on my bike when in a riding position so when it ran out i could find it easily.
I say luckily cos the bloody thing is there no more. Must have rattled itself off!! ____________________ Harold_Shand wrote: I suppose it's like anything, you get your fingers burned when you start out, you learn from it and eventually become a complete arsehole about the whole thing. |
