It was really wet, but I couldn't resist going out for a blast.

I thought I'd take some photos of the bike seeing as it hasn't been complete for at least three months. I never put the belly pan back on after its first oil change (since owning the bike).

The photos were taken within about 2 miles of my house, but that's because I only got the idea to take photos when I came home after riding the thing. They were taken at local churches. Although I am not religious I still like Churches.

theyre amazing bikes, if they didnt have a shitty gear box where 2nd gear likes to go pop i dare say it'd be one of the best mini-tourers around. if i remember rightly the early models were the fastest 600 of their time?

Infact they were to kawasaki in the early 90's what the zxr is to them today.

The gearbox is OK if treated OK. At a guess it is people thrashing them off the line and slamming them into 2nd that takes out the dogs on 2nd gear (the gear change is very clunky into 2nd if done quickly).

The ZZR was the first 150mph 600.

Hi

Spend too many miles trawling along on a ZZR600! Done about 600 miles on it this week. It has done mid 40Ks (not sure exactly, speedo wasn't working for a while) and 2nd gear is still fine. But the ZZR does have a particularly clunky change from 1st to 2nd if you are in a hurry (quite nice otherwise).

Not sure if the short lived cush drive rubbers make it worse.

My ZZR600 is just about to tip over onto 60k, has developed a bit of a top end rattle, but the gearbox is absolutely sweet. I've done 10k on it since March

G: With my GSXR I do often effectively use it as a scooter with a clutch in town.
