https://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/derbyshire/3807631.stm

For once, instead of saying how we should slow down and be more careful, etc etc... they're saying "road engineers had a duty to examine motorcycle accidents and to protect bikers with better junction design, better road surfaces and improved crash barriers"

So we're not all evil little sods that deserve everything we get after all!!
Well, most of us aren't anyway... Twisted Evil

Brilliant idea Smoto Bob! I might even ask the local council if they can do that from now on!
And if they could make overbanding grippy too, we'd be laughing!

Some of the covers around here are done like that - although not many.

There's always someone out there....I wouldn't phase out the idea of that happening.

Sounds like the AA is on top form. The white lines are as much a problem in the wet as the manhole covers are.

We have some manhole covers that have a high friction semi-gravel mixed with tar surfices.

On my blast out this morning I passed some of the new "To Die For?" signs... quite chilling and yes, it slowed me down for a minute...

However most of the roads I was on were full of towns with 30-40 zones, so they must be putting the signs up on any slightly long stretch of road in the county. Seems a little OTT but if it saves lives and makes cars drivers think about bikes then it gets the big thumbs up from me Thumbs Up

Aswell as Manhole covers and White lines, what about the silicon stuff the highways agency apply after filling in a hole on the road, that very shiny black stuff is slippy as hell, Rain or shine!
