Can't wait to see on Friday how he did it!

Probably because if it was on a tripod or similar it would have been very easy to work out what they did.

Er...it's easy to work it out regardless...it was a trick. You know, like in the movie 'War of the Worlds', when those big machines blow up the Bay Bridge and stuff. That wasn't real either.

But at least it had a plot and was entertaining.

for those that never saw it.

I watched it, and kept flicking back and forth from CH4 and BBC and it was genuinely live.

He never claims its real, hence the follow up show when he tells you how its done. Its all misdirection, a psycology.
I find it quite interesting how many people he can fool with, when explained, some real simple stuff.

Here my explanation to his ILLUSION:

The first part of the show IS live but when he switches the tv off i reckon its NOT live anymore but instead one of many of pre-recorded clips he had recorded over the past year of him turning the holder around to reveal the correct numbers is played.

That would indeed solve many of the 'issues' .. but fact is, with so many combinations (~14million), over the past year, there really wasn't enough time to record EVERY one of those combinations - even if doing it 24/7 ...

At the end of the day there are only ~31.5million seconds in a FULL year ...

Camera-trick or remote-controlled electronic etch-a-sketch balls or a blue-screen, whatever. *yawn*.

Hmmm just wrote a post out saying how it could have been done via video editing, having a pre recorded overlay of the left side of the screen whilst the lotto numbers are read, someone puts the correct numbers in then the overlay is removed just as he walks back over to the balls...

however then I watched it a bit closer and you can see the TV reflecting off the floor in real-time so unless it's some very clever overlaying then it can't be that...

Not really sure how he done it, but if it was real then he'd be have won the lotto etc etc, cant see it being real.... just a trick of the mind, but not sure how its done Smile

typically shaggy posts up a video explaining my idea just as i post it! Laughing

I still think it could be an overlay but not sure how someone walked over to the balls leaving the floor in real-time as per the tv reflections.. unless they just used an old lotto show to get a rough match from the tv reflections, hmm..

in fact.,.. looking again, its not the TV thats reflecting off the floor its the thing at the back which would also be there in an overlay... so overlay is looking most likely to me at the min....

Overlay seems the most likely solution, but that really doesn't seem to follow with the stuff he's done in the past. He normally does more psycological stuff rather than "and we split the screen and had someone write the numbers on the balls"

The solution show is on tonight at 9 if I remember right. It's an hour long, so if it is the split screen trick, they are going to have to pad this program out like hell!

i seriously doubt it was done with overlaying or any major form of camera trick, thats not his style and anyone can do it as proven in the youtube clip, it takes no skill .

for a guy who is brilliant at psychology and shit he seemed too excited, even for him, he was acting as though there was no script like the program was all rushed and he had to think on his feet, hence why he kept repeating the same sentances 2 or 3 times in excitment, that i believe to be fake but i'm sure when he reveals it it'll be something clever, like i said camera tricks take fuck all skill and it's not his style. ( if it does turn out to be a camera trick then f**k you you sell out Laughing )

The excitement is just 'showmanship', which he also says his act largely consist of.

I too agree that camera trickery isn't his style and although that sort of thing seems like the most logical answer, I am not sure it is solely what he has done as its a bit lame for him.

I can tell you one thing ... you can't KNOW what the numbers are. So its some sort of trick.

The most logical being like he did with the horses i.e. took such a large sample set that he had to always end up with SOMEONE who got them all right/it worked with.

Its almost certainly a numbers game like that.

But what fascinates me is how he did that with so many combinations. As I alluded to earlier, it isn't feasibly posible to cover ALL combinations for this stunt.

He may have reduced the solution space some how. Perhaps takling out all sequenced numbers???

But more likely - he did say it might only be 5 numbers and not include the bonus ball. (perhaps showmanship, perhaps lack of confidence??).

Anyway, to match 5 it is 1 in 55,491.3 ... now that IS doable with lots of pre-recording.

He then only had to luck out to match the 6th.

His excitement may have been real as although he knew he would get 5, it was indeed a lottery on the 6th??

Dunno, I am intrigued to find out tonight!! Thumbs Up

What I think happened is everyone was distracted by the television. Then behind the camera sticky vicky was writing them on ping pong balls and firing them to the stand through the wonders of her slippery fish. Bingo theres your answer. (see what I done there bingo because it uses numbered balls ......... no.......okay.)
