And mangulated my CG, the bastard. Not entirely sure what happened, this is third hand news, as far as I'm aware he is claiming that as he came off a roundabout (biggish roundabout, so sweeping right hander into sweepingish left hander) the "front wheel lifted up" (don't quote me on this, that's what my mate told me Tristan said, I'm sure Tristan will have come up with a better excuse by now...) and he's run wide into the railings on the central reservation. Bent railings, bent bike, and apparently a broken wrist- as far as I'm aware he's currently in hospital, but not seriously injured.

I'm sure he'll be along at some point to fill in the gaps/ blame the bike some more.

You've really got to watch those CGs, they really are incredibly brutal machines.

Power wheelies in any gear with ease! It seems that tristan found out when he was exiting the roundabout. Must have given it too much of a handfull, and instead of lighting up the rear with it's immense power, the fat rear tyre dug in and lofted the front in a huge minger!

Brutal bike!

Hope he's ok Thumbs Up

upon closer inspection... the yokes were loose. ie: yoke nut, finger tight.

who put them on i wonder?

the plot thickens...

anyway, its only like a £50 bike so who gives a shit about it?

:O I WANTS IT!!! will make me all streamlined and shizz, plus the extra tank will mean ill never have to fill the bike up ever again!. looks epic, and those 3.00 - 18 tyres have all the grip of a harnessed child on a chip fat covered lino tile, no wonder it pulled the front end up! bad luck on the crash though, plenty of spares for the bike though Thumbs Up

A suspicious mind would have a closer look at the ends of the mainstand for evidence of bits of road. Potentially indicating it digging in while attempting knee-down on a big, sweeping roundabout and lifting the wheels off the road.

CSI BCF.

Surely even if the yoke nut was loose (I'm fairly sure it wasn't, after all, Matt has been riding it for weeks and funny enough, it never tried to kill him), then that wouldn't cause the front wheel to lift?

It wasn't a £50 bike, OK it only cost me £300 but Adam spent a week of his summer pulling it apart and cleaning/ tidying it up and it was looking pretty tidy actually. At least it ran and no- one had taken an angle grinder to the frame... It was loaned to Tristan as he was desperate for transport to and from work/ his OH's, (given his reputation for crashing things I should have said no). I assumed as he is facing loosing his license for moronic riding that he'd probably take it easy and use it as a mode of transport and not an ego extender but it would appear I'm wrong.

I told him you bin it, you buy it. I'm looking forward to my £300.

*Edit* That seems extremely harsh on a friend of mine who has injured himself in a crash. But I'm rather pissed off that he's managed to smash up my bike in an accident which seems unlikely to be anyone's fault but his... I'm hoping as much as anyone else he recovers quickly- but I'm still annoyed.
Matt's lack of respect for anyone else's property is a given, so I suppose I should have expected that response from him...

Stinkwheel- the pegs aren't hinged and they hit the road first... but good idea...

just because you paid £300 for it doesnt make it worth it.

i also saw it after the rebuild and before the crash... it was about as clean and tidy as my GSXR.

regardless, it will be repaired for a lot less than £300 so dont get your hopes up sonny jim.

stinkwheel, it was on a straight road and into a railing. fuck knows how it happened but from the lights to the impact its impossible to get above 30mph on a CG.

and my response is not due to my lack of respect for anyones property, its because i dont like you... you know this.

in all fairness if someone else binned my bike i wouldnt want to ride it, especially if they repaired it at home rather than a proper garage. id say put a very similar one in the owners garage and call it quits

how about if its your friend though?

for example: my friend crashed my GSXR 4 days before its MOT.

i knew how much he earned, i asked him to get the vital parts and leave it at that. Because its the decent thing to do. We both learned from it.

when it happens to endless, nameless, the money grabbing bastard thinks of nothing but himself.

do i have a point?

i think so.

Hands held up. £450 your way on loan day. Happy to fix the bike up, but I dont want you to feel hard done by if it isn't 100% back to what it was.

came round the right hander, flipped the bike over for the exit, as I did so the fron wheel felt like it skipped and the bike weaved, with it banked to the left. stamped down to stand it up and the bars went lock to lock with a lot of force.

I had a tankslapper on a CG.

police log number is 610 10/9/09 If you request it you'll see the witness statements that back this up 100% I was riding under 30 the whole time. As matt said it would be impossible to get above 30 on the roundabout as I was stationary at the lights.

it'd depend on how badly it was stacked, it's hard to say without it actually happening to me. i probably wouldnt lend my bike to anyone precisely for this reason, good on tristan for sorting the cash out though. i know where theres an '88 cg thats being broken for spares if you need anything off it if you are going to repair it Smile

Sorry to hear about the accident, sounds like a complicated thing, but thought I should say... I had damn near the exact same type of incident on my CG. Coming round a right hander, only it was a corner not a roundabout, front wheel lost all traction and tried to lowside, sat it up and it went into a tankslapper. I came out of it just a few feet from the hedge, and I'm incredibly lucky there was no oncoming traffic to crash into.

Shame you weren't so lucky mate Sad

It seems god is trying to clean up all the CG's.

He moved on from mine to yours... the bar steward.

im moving on i think, it's time to give the CG to someone else to share the misfortune.

Next bike: NSR125 methinks.

He's a full license holder Dunc, as am I.
Tristan, glad you are OK, sorry to be such a cunt, and sod off with the £450 thing, just fix it up when you can afford too.
Wasn't aware that you were starting from the lights, assumed you'd had a clear run round the roundabout and were, ahem, going some- I have pillioned with you round there on the CB remember, that wasn't an unreasonable assumption Wink

Matt, just feck off (said in a Father Jack voice). You are earning, maybe you can afford to pay to fix someone else's cock- up. I'm aware Tristan has very little money, but I'm not exactly rolling in it either. I'm hardly a money grabbing cunt- don't forget that I've handed that bike over to Matt to ride after his got nicked/ buggered when I otherwise would have sold it and put the money towards sorting the 550... Adam didn't charge anyone to fix it up either. And it was a lot tidier than the GSXR, Adam stripped it right down, new bearings, paint touched up etc etc. Considering the non existent budget he did a good job. Now Matt is going to have to put his test plans on hold too, although I think he was thinking of waiting 'till he's 21 so hardly a "biggie".

Have you beaten up the kids who nicked you RXS yet? I seem to remember you were quite upset about that, and were going to "pay some visits". Then it all went quiet...
