been clocked by your dad ? ive heard that before

so what EXACTLY has been done to it

the ts makes about 3 hp at standard at a push , your going to need at least 10bhp to get to 70

you would have to have been clocked because the speedo's on all the TS50's I've had only went up to 60mph

Only proof of top speed is a pic from speed cam Laughing

Pretty sure that the old 50cc racing class used to top out at around 100mph.....

But no way could you get a ts style bike uo to them speeds due to the drag factor... Laughing

I had a 1991 TS50X in 1993 when I was 16.

The speedo went all the way to 70mph.

I was standard 50cc with a gianelli spanny on it and I raised/dropped the needle..cant remember which one now. I also was one tooth bigger on the front. With no wind on the flat it would show an indicated 45mph with me laying down and changtign gear with my hand to get up to speed. Throw in a tailwind/slip stream a lorry and 50mph was possible on the clock.

Kop hill near Princes Risbrough and it would hit in indicated 62mph at the 10k redline in top. Kop hill is like a cliff though.

My cousins run big bore kits, need reeds etc and would have theirs pull off the clocks no probs.

your right, my bad. they go up to 70, but that's still lower than the claimed 72mph?

Well my KTM duke only had 105 on the clock but would pull round to what would be 115mph no probs. It is possible to go off the clock in certain vehicles !

I'm not disputing it,

what I was saying is that once your off the clock there's no way of knowing what speed your doing unless someone clocks you

I'v had 8 TS50s so far 1 P reg round tank, 5 ER's, & 2 X's & I had all but 2 of them off the clock

sorry if yours has had what it says done to it there are no restrictors
been on 2 one did 38 on a flat tarmac road. The other derestricted did 40 on a long straight on a field so maybe 50 on tarmac. To be honest they are not fast as 50's go from what my experience have been with them.
suppose you could gear them right up if its top speed your after
Have a look on youtube they usually have good vids of specific bikes Wink

Back in the day they were the fastest restricted 50 for top end. I went up against standard DTs, ARs, MTs and nothing could match my mega top end. Then once I added a pipe I was stuck in a half way zone....could beat the restricted no probs but the big bore bikes fucked off like a scalded cat.

I can remember though when it rained it would be nights spent in the local multi storey getting the pegs down....then I got a girlfriend and sex was the top agenda for a long time....

Mine would also pull ~40ish with a 12 stone pillion as well....

I have a 09 versys and an 58 zx10r now but I still look back on my days on a TS and smile....life was easy then. Have even thought aboyut buying another TS and whacking a big bore kit on it just to see what it would do.....

Oy! That's my standard response to these threads! Evil or Very Mad

Laughing

Actually, I had a TS50X as my first ever bike and I can confirm that they are slow as shit.

ok mines got lads of things done to it and it does 72mph (been clocked at that speed by my dad but how fast can you make them go ? were are the restrictors in them ect i know ive done carb gearing bore kit exhaust up jet

just wondering if im missing any others though ???

A Suzuki TS50?

Had one of them about 8 years ago, it did 0-30 in 60 seconds . If you where lucky you saw 35mph on a down hill with a tail wind. 1 mile tailbacks behind me on Wood Head even with pulling over every 10 minutes as the bike struggled to top 20mph up their.

I struggle to see how one could ever do a genuine 70mph. Save your money, wait till your 17 and get a 33bhp bike. Throwing money at a 50cc which at the end of the day will always be slow no matter how much you spend is stupid.

Gotta pass your test before you can get a 33bhp. Confused

Till you do its 14.5 for you....
