Depends what you want it for.... Personally - i think it looks the Mutt's Nuts and being a 4 stroke it should sound ok (not as tinny as a 2T 125), and you can pick up a decent one 2nd hand for under £1k..

it's just horendously slow! will be perfect if your only tootling round town or to your mates, i.e under 50mph... but will struggle on dual carriageway / NSL as from what i've read they struggle to do 70mph (and that's after a 4 mile straight)

but apart from hooning arround - it get's a from me !!

AFAIK there's a few people on here with them, but a few have been modified in some way to increase performance a wee bit (one claiming about 22bhp).
I think dragonfly has one completely standard so she'll be able to comment on the standard quality and speed.
I have seen a few unmolested ones for under a grand, even saw a naked 250 for 800 quid. Seems that the second owners aren't too bothered about taking a hit on depreciation, but they aren't the most common bikes in most parts of the country.

I've got the naked version, and yeah it is a bit slow, but it's a nice ride, nice and stable, and happily runs at 65, can get to 70-75 at a push lol.

I ain't lookin for a bike that will rip my head off speedwise and I am buying brand new want I want to know is about reliability, durabilityand problems with rust

I bought a second hand 05 one, and it was pretty rusty when i bought it. But if you look after it that shouldn't be a problem. As for reliability, starts every time and not had any major issues.

I don't recommend buying a new one though, plenty of decent and cheap second hand ones.

I will say one thing, spare parts are not as easy/readily available as I'd like to be honest. But that's understandable i guess.

Yeah always have a look there, they are pretty good.

Not knowing the limitations over there can you not just get a 250 ?

I did own a hyosung some years back. Mechanically good but the finish was poor so expect decay especially of the exhaust.

I suppose a twin like that could be coaxed into making a bit more power but over 20hp sounds optimistic.

20hp sounds possible, but it was very expensive and sounded like it'd make it rather fragile to.

They are very heavy bikes.
If you're into bikes for the looks and sound, not the riding... and if you happen to think the looks and sound are actually good (I still look both are similar to a gs500) then, great bike.
Spending over £1k on one seems to be lunacy to me, considering what else is out there.
