hi, i think that some dirt etc is in my fuel tank and somehow blocking the passage of fuel to the rest of the bike.....
does anybody have any suggestions as t how i could clean it out?
not very keen on completely stripping the bike apart and gettin the fuel tank out separately so a method to clean it in normal position would be most appreciated
thanks.

Thread some string through some nuts, tie it and throw it in the the tank, shake it, remove the nuts, pour some petrol in the tank and shake it again, then empty it.

Have you checked the fuel hose or the vac hose if you have one?
If they are good then one should assume there is a problem with the fuel filter, commonly apart of the tap assembly I believe, without knowing what bike it is of course.

If there definitely is dirt causing a blockage in the fuel tank then I'd suggest getting old of a highly volatile but safer cleaner such as carb cleaner and pouring that in, it will evaporate pretty quickly and after a few shakes and fills any loose dirt should be removed.

In any case it's probably best if you do remove the tank though. Thumbs Up
