I'm guessing the bike has done a lot less than the 23000mls my 7 month old bike has done and never gets ridden in the rain. Added to which Marie has a hand washing OCD. Wink

Actually the HeavyBus got its first wet road trip in June or so we had a freak Summer shower and rode in it for about 350 miles. We live in the desert so we don't get rain much at all. As a matter of fact we can ride about 330 days a year, the rest being to cold wet rainy or icy. Pretty lucky eh?

Depends how you look at it. I ride everyday and get paid good money for it regardless of the weather.

Smearing abit of silicon is hardly messy work.

My hands get dirty from changing brake pads let alone removing the manifolds.

I'm not into argueing the fact as it's no big deal, but i find it funny especially when i hear how pissed my mum gets when she breaks a nail, washing up, let alone fixing a motorbike.

I jus doubt you'd really have such nice nails if you worked on a bike.

But if you do, more fool me. Smile

As you can see I keep my tools and my work area clean, and my hands. As for the fingernails yes they are a bit of a pain. I crashed at one of my first RoadRaces and broke a nail. OHHH poor me! Yeppers thats right those things are stronger than your real nails and when it broke, it tore my nail off completely! Hurt 10 X worse than the bone I broke in my foot in the same wreck! I'm not some tattooed hair butch lesbian I'm a Girly Girl and I like to look and dress like a Girl. Yeppers I wear Makeup even when I Race or Ride. Why? Because I like to be attractive and clean and nice. Not dirty sweaty and greasy( Although if thats the type of thing you like Devans I'm sure theres a website for your particular perversion)

Now two last replies
Chris-Red "Will you show us installs of things your are sponsered (learn to spell! It's Sponsored)by? This is smelling more and more like spam everday.(Everyday?)"

Well yes and no there are things that my Sponsors have given me and I do agree to do step by step installs. There are also things like the Home made wheel balancer that I built myself or the Swing arm extensions I bought off of the net. So yes and no.

Devan
I would hate for Chris Red to have the joy of bearing the full brunt of what I'm going to say so this is for your Chauvinistic narrow mind also.
I Ride, I Race, I have worked in a Dealership, and I work on my own bikes with assistance from my Husband who most likely was Racing when you were still just a gleam in Daddies eye.
I take offense at the mere implication that I am "Posing" for these shots because I'm not rolling in filth and have nice nails. Grow a pair, man up and say it like we do in Texas, Call me a liar! Don't try to sugar coat things and beat around the bush sissy boys.

MY intent once again when this started was:

To have some good safe fun
Take Riders/Readers along for the ride
Show those who were interested in Land Speed Racing what types of things were required
Provide an inspiration for other Women Riders or for those Women interested in Racing.

In Texas we don't sugar coat things, you two owe me an apology, and you owe an apology to the other readers of this forum because as a result of your poor attitude I am pulling all of my posts. You are both rude!

I'm sorry but this is one of the funniest things I've read on this forum in ages! Apologies, On BCF! Laughing I thought texans were supposed to be tough and have a thick skin?

Ok, one last analogy to help you out:
British war movie:
Stiff upper lip, quiet heroism, not much is made of bravery.

American war movie:
Loads of emotion and crying, "Send my watch home to mah pappy", and purple hearts all around.

Jeez, the British don't give medals for getting injured in a combat zone! Laughing

Doh!

This has to be the worst example of exhaust wrapping I've ever seen.

For some strange reason i think this is one big stinking crock of shit.

My missus was well impressed at how you can do bike mechanics while wearing your expensive looking rings and without getting any oil/muck/grime on your finger nails what-so-ever.

As for trying to look more like a grid girl in your photos rather than a grease monkey, i do not see why you would complain about people posting "rude" comments. Suck it up wench.

Just look at the pictures, you are working on the underside of the bike which is clearly dirty and there is not a spot of muck on you. I reckon you posting all these threads as maybe part of your sponsorship deals. I think you are full of crap and pose for pictures of you working on the bike and nothing more. Anyone who has done as much as an oil change on a bike will know you can't do it without getting grubby. Well except for Craig he washes his hands before he touches his bikes so they don't make the bike dirty.

You want it un-sugarcoated, I don't doubt you can ride and that is great, well done. Every picture you have posted of you 'working' on a bike looks rediculously set up. You constantly mention your sponsors, I can't help but think it advertising. Why are there so many pictures of you smiling holding a tool in these threads look around at the other show and tell thread hardly a person in site it's close ups of the important parts of the install, yet you are in 90% of the pictures smiling.

Apology? You get fuck all from me.
