No real weak areas. Cam Chain rattle is pretty normal. That's about it really.

Had mine 18 months now and no real problems to speak of except the side stand switch but tis not bike specific. Just a pain in the arse.
The only thing I would suggest is, if you get a chance to test ride take it to freeway speeds.
I find mine very buzzy and can put my hands to sleep in under 10 minutes
Of course you can change to softer grips and alter bar end weights to sort that. Never have yet though. Guess I'm just lazy.
Comfy as hell, but not the best position for pillions although I've had birds on the back for hour stints with no real complaints.
I wouldn't be planning much more than that though.
Oh and would be rude not to take a photo whoring opportunity.
Can't believe the other 2 missed it

I took a test ride on an admittedly uglier "champagne silver" 2005 6 Ninja, and was very impressed. Had new tyres on it so back end slipped out on exit of the dealer but I was soon on my way.
The power is delivered in a slightly different way to a normal SS 600 bike, because of the extra 36 cc. Its a bit more torquey at lower revs. But at the same time more playful at high revs!

I had a 2005 ZX6R C1H, it's the slightly softer follow on from the B1H but arguably all the better for it on the road.
The biggest point I can recall of it is that it was just so damn easy to ride. Any muppet could jump on and do some very fast laps of a track with very little time getting used to the bike. I found it a dream in the wet as well as all the controls were very predictable, no snatchy fuelling or too harsh brakes, everything was just so smooth, progressive and powerful.
My only dislike was that I found it make no sense at normal speeds, I found myself doing three figure speeds everywhere, I rarely dipped much under 80 unless I had to. These speeds should be scary, but the Ninja made them feel so safe and normal. Just make sure you have learned a good bit of self control before using it as Kawasaki intended. ____________________ "THOSE WHO RISK NOTHING, DO NOTHING, ACHIEVE NOTHING, BECOME NOTHING." |

I miss my zx6 I had the 06.
I think it's supposed to sound like a sewing machine when running (cam chain rattle I think).
Check for corrosion on the caliper blocks, brake fittings and what not. They are the first to go. (anecdotal evidence from looking at a lot of 06 zx6s)
If it's got an aftermarket can, check it's been fitted professionally (paperwork?) otherwise you can have problems with the exhaust servo warning light. Not a massive issue, just annoying.
Anyway, here's some posthumous whorage:

Also, don't get the one in 'hearing-aid beige'. Black or green FTW. |
