I've been a member at BCF for a pretty short time, never wanted to join a forum before mainly because I thought communicating to people over the net was a bit cold, for people with issues who like talking in code with people they'll never meet, not people like me...

A few months later and I'm a new man, I get advice, get issues off my chest, have a laugh and I'm privie to some top notch funny stuff. Young and old, male and female all chatting about stuff (about bikes) that isn't sex, something I thought all forums were really about!

Now I never get any work done and I'm bound to get sacked, guess I have issues after all.... Wink

I've been using the internet for over 10 years but this was the first forum I ever joined. I joined a few others after this place made me realise that forums were a good thing. But the others were nowhere near as good as this. This is now the only one I still use and that's covering all types of forums including non-biking ones. BCF rules all! Thumbs Up Cool

Glad you find such joy from the forums, though why you pick god to bless it is beyond me - perhaps you should take charge and bless it yourself! Confused

this is the third form I have joined, the first being Heartland, a sisters of mercy forum where I was the top poster and really really enjoyed the community and laughs on there up to the point my wife and I were banned by the moderator and owner for reasons I have yet to discover

the second I'm still a member of but go on rarely now for obvious reasons and that was the American Bandit site Maximum Suzuki. Also I'm a member of the Sukbog mailing list

Forums can be cliche but ya just have to make ya self at home and snuggle on up... Very Happy ....a stranger is a friend ya don't know yet..

That would mean you were running on NSFNET, or ARPANET which was later dissolved. Maybe even EUnet but that was mainly commercial and educational. Bet there wasn't much on here then.

I belong to loads of forums - but a master of none. I get bored too easily...

I first joined the uBoot.com, then SOC (suzuki owners), then the sv650.org forum, then Harder Faster.net, then Bikersweb, then USH.net, then 100% biker (until I got a major slating for sticking up for people against racists, I decided I didnt want to spend my spare time being constantly slagged off and being hated - so I asked them to delete my file). Then Zimma told me about this site so I checked you all out and joined.

Or Compuserve. I have certainly had a Compuserve account for about 9 years, and I started on the Windows version long after they had a DOS based service.

All the best

Bloody hell! Shocked Is that bringing back memories, I remember when my dad first got the internet set up on our very old computer and he used compuserve, I actually think that he's still got an account with them for work too! Funny thing I remember about that was that even though I was very young and knew hardly anything about computers, I still managed to track the pornographic pictures he'd been looking at and the dodgy sites he'd been on! Laughing

this forum is indeed wonderful. I run an F1-related forum and have to be careful not to lose patience running it because of the people who sometimes post. So thanks to the mods around here, because I know it's not the most fun job to mod a forum!
I've visited many a forum when I've been bored/looking for info, and I found this one looking for help fixing up my bike and didn't expect to find such a friendly bunch of people Smile

I am part of 3 forums now, one being my first place for all things digital.

the second one I am a mod of, I hate being a mod though!

I was just looking for bikey stuff, when I found this site, though I'm glad I joined!

I find these sites can become very addictive though!

I'm guessing you sent me that PM then?
And if it was you, after seeing the thread and all, figure I might leave, and yes, I found this place through googling for bike info, stayed here, and told you, it is win.

Careful... Shifty It will take over your life ... Shifty

I now eat only beans I have hoarded next to my computer... and the only time I am away from an internet ready computer is on my half our ride to and from work. I feel sick all the way. I spend my work day hunched over my laptop which has its internet homepage set to BCF.

I even have a picture of the BCF logo on my phone so if I ever have a non bcf panic attack then I can look at it to calm me down. Shifty

Or maybe thats only half of the truth! Laughing

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I was an obsessive internet geek for a while, then I lost my cause (a game.. :/) so I nearly got a life and all, luckily BCF has saved me from that tragedy, I'm a warehouse worker, and I still spend all my time at work on other peoples computers at BCF.
But shhh, I'm doing paperwork.... Rolling Eyes

Likewise, this is the only forum I have posted on regularly ever, and I have been using the Internet for 10 years (Fido search engine etc.) - the days of 9600 bauds, Compuserve and Demon Internet!
