I just filled a very large gap in mine! I've been browsing eBay for a week or two and there are countless options for you mate, just as long as you have transport for a half built bike!

Yes the bandit has been considered, but seeing as they are one of my most disliked bikes on a looks basis it would be cosmetically altered a fair bit, mostly that putrid rear end Sick

Whatever i get i want, decent usd forks/rear shock, new subframe and nice back end, nice swingarm and paint job, then its just little bits like tarty mirrors & lights etc.
Then if its old and gutless (like a bandit lets say) then i may turbo/supercharge.

They're a little spicier with the inclusion of gixxer cams, though. And a better exhaust/intake system. Maybe some better plugs, too.

This is, of course, entirely dependent on just how big a project you fancy.

In my opinion, what starts as a boring bike can become a bit of a laugh, if you're willing to mod it appropriately.
Of course, it ends up costing more than it's worth at resale, and it's still a Bandit (kind of), but they're easy to work on, and the engines are relatively hard to kill. Having said that, they do become easier to kill once they're modified...

You're right about the back end, though - it's fugly. In my case, this is not improved by the fact that all of the plastic on mine (what little there is of it) is utterly fuggered.

On a side note: streetfightering a sports bike would be made of brilliance, if your tastes run that way. I'm largely ambivalent, having lapsed into a Bandit-Owner's Huff about your disdain of them Wink

Bandit? Pah. Pre '98 GSX600F, remove all fairings, bar bellypan. Can be found for little more than the price of a bandit, then all you need to shell out for is bar ends and indi's.

Second one looks nae bad though. Thumbs Up

The third one, though hideous, does come with a knuckleduster, for when you get pulled over by real arsehole coppers.

Looks alright, for a naked bike, could use different lights though, ideally ones useful at night Thumbs Up
