Helmet hook thing?

As now I've got a lady on the back of my bike, ok ok this isn't the first lady ever sort of thing, previous ones didn't like bikes is all!

What are these hook things I keep seeing on peoples bikes called? Yes the things that leave helmets on the side of your bike and get knocked around when people try to steal.. but yeah what are they!

Um, most bikes just have one and I've heard them called either helmet locks or latches before? The bottom two things shown here normally? Ok, well one of those is the steering column lock and the other is the helmet lock:

You could get something like a long padlock in order to extend what you can use to attach your helmets to the bike I guess if I want to leave two helmets.

mines under my seat, flick the seat up hook helmet strap on and put seat back..sorted, has one either side..

my bike has two 'hooks' under the seat, just two pieces of metal bent in at the edges of where the seat fits down, means the D-Ring on the helmet strap can loop over, seat is repaced and locked and in theory the only way to remove the helmet is cut the strap or break the seat lock !

Yeah, the one on the CG is simple, key in, click, d ring in, push shut, sorted

You can keep a lid there when the bike is parked, but if it rains it'll get wet.

You can't use it to carry a lid. It would be pretty dangerous.

You can cargo net a spare helmet to the seat if you want it for when your riding to pick someone up.

Mine has the under the seat hooks, but its a pain to take the seat off when my panniers are on the bike, so I use a bike lock like this that I had kicking around:

Backpack carries helmets well I have found (Occasionally use to lock on the 'second' helmet to prevent lugging it around).

I just ride with a helmet slid up my arm if im picking someone up.

Just have it on my clutch arm and high up enough so my elbow is in the "bowl" of the helmet so it can move freely. Would like to have it on throttle side tho!

I carry a second lid on my right arm, or else now that I have a cargo net and a top box I can theoretically carry 4 lids (2 in top box, 1 under the cargo net & one on my arm )

Unless you have something to bungie it to or a top-box, put it into a backpack (put it into its cover first to stop the visor getting scratched). Your bird will have to wear the backpack for the return journey.

Or do what I do - make her carry her helmet around shopping with her, on the promise that I'll pick her up later with the bike. Helmet taking up most of her rucksack = not buying very much
