...playing a track on Youtube, thinking "I really rather want this..."
Then the little iTunes bar pops up along the bottom of the video, and I'm like "Fuck you. Middle Finger "

Off I toddle to an old name I remember, mp3fiesta.com. I look up the track, it's five american cents. Look it up on iTunes, it's 79p (approx $1.10). But you have to load the fiesta account with a pre-charged amount, which is $30 (about £18). So I'm thinking "Hmm...£18 for one track, though I'll be able to buy a fucking shit-load more music with that amount...or 79p from iTunes...? Choices choices...FUCK YOU ITUNES!!!"

Now, 5c, you can't argue with that, can you? I mean, if the group sold one million copies of that track, directly to the public (no parasites in between), that'd be 1,000,000 x 5c = 5,000,000 cents, = $50,000. Which is a fair earner for one song I reckon. And if it didn't sell a million copies, at 5c per copy, it'd have to be crap anyway.

So I figure 5c is fair. Yes, I know, the group aren't getting any of it...but I guess they chose their distribution methods, so go sleep in that bed boys. You'd have gotten about a fucking penny of each 79p iTunes charged anyway. And I'm fucked if I'm paying money for a track, knowing that 99% of it is going into the pockets of scumsack parasites, the likes of which own and operate iTunes.

All I have to do now is find another £18's worth of music I want on Fiesta. Laughing

The MP3 is top quality too. Thumbs Up

Apparently he is, according to the kerfuffle he's creating around the globe. "We're all going bust, send in the DRM gestapo and CRACK SKULLS!"

I'm currently downloading five MoS albums, 50p each. I'll pay that kind of money all day long for the quality and convenience (torrent can go fuck itself too, it's shite). Wink

What you're buying is quite likely to be the same as what's available on torrents. Laughing

Torrents are piss easy to use. Smile

'The man' likes to stamp his feet and gnash his teeth and make loud noises (kinda like someone else around here). Believe me, he ain't as worried as he's making out.

It's sweet that you're so proud of finding a way to let some Ukranians relive you of a few quid that you feel the need to post and tell us all about it.

Indeed, it doth amuseth me. Laughing

Ste, torrents are shite. If you can actually find what you want (rare) the file usually has a handful of seeders, and most of those are restricted to 0.5kbs each. I can count on one hand the number of times I've had a stress-free torrent downloading experience, and most of the time I cancel.

But of course, you'll be one of those l33t torrent ninjas, who has special access to torrents that have stuff as arcane as an obscure 1950's b&w art-house cult movie, and it'll be seeded by a thousand peeps each giving it large at 2mb each. Laughing

I think I'll stick to 5c a track, tap it into the search-engine and it's on my desktop three minutes later, cheers ta thanks very much. Wink

torrentz.com has all the newish stuff.

If you get stressed whilst downloading then you may have issues Laughing

Torrents are fine unless you need something ultra specific.

MoS albums are all on there, I top out my personal download speed which is 1mb so about 110kbps on good days

I do get stressed at the thought of some scumbag having slipped something nasty into a file, or it being of shite quality. Or empty, or password-protected. Torrent can bite me. Laughing

You sir are an angry young man.

You should also be aware that you can not have your cake and eat it too.

You complain about paying and then find reason to complain about services which offer the same product for free.

I swear I have never known another man to be so in touch with his feminine side. Very Happy

You must be the bain of existence for every register jockey you meet in a customer service environment.

I do agree with you though and I refuse to pay money to itunes for music or apps.
Those prices you mentioned though on fiesta seem more than fair.

You sir are a confused young man. Laughing

I complain about piss-taking prices, and about something free that isn't worth a wank. In between, however, I laud something which is both dirt-cheap and of fine quality. Smile
