I was coming down a 30 road.
Someone pulled out and stuck at like 15mph for ages, so I over take them. Next thing some pig is pointing some crazy binocular things at me and flagged me down.
We had the usual chat.
And in the end I managed to escape the 60 pound fine and 3 points.
Although on saturday morning I have to attend some daft 3 hour course and test.
Anybody know what it entails ??? Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Karma Karma

3 hour course and test? If its the same as the speed awareness course thing that they do up my way then it isn't a test.

I did it about 6 weeks ago. It was a 4 hour course and you will be suprised when you turn up (not 1 chav/boy racer in mine, i was the youngest there at 20, everyone else was middle aged, majority were milfs!). We had a right laugh, basically just come up with excuses (don't have to be real) why you would speed.

We came up with all sorts of crap such as dog had the shits, had a wobbly tooth, grim reaper was chasing me, racing an audi accross snakes pass etc Laughing

We then watched a few clips (some cctv, some were adverts that were obviously setup) of people getting pwned by cars speeding.

All the way through you have a workbook to complete as you go along, you don't even have to get them right, just have a go at them (they never checked), mainly what certain signs mean, the speed limits for different vehicles on different roads and rubbish like that.

Last bit of the course thing was some wobbly woman telling us about 'eco-driving', basically saving a bit of brass and more importantly Rolling Eyes saving the environment, silly woman!

Its a piece of piss though, aslong as you participate/actually turn up then you can't fail. Cost me £60 to do the course, rather do that then get the £60 fine and 3 points and have to tell my insurance people.

How fast did you over take the 15mph car? You could have overtaken it at less then 30mph.

My guess is the car was doing 20-30mph and BioHazard did a quick overtake getting up to 50mph something like that! Wink

Either that or he overtook on a road where overtaking wasn't allowed (double whites).

I was clocked at 43 Cool
Well it doesn't sound that bad.
Better than 3 points.
If he did give me three points I would have lost my licence.

After this though I think I may start and chill out a little more when on the roads. Sometimes I can get a little bit carried away.
I have never been on a track, I reckon a track day would sort me out Thinking

There'd be a good argument for reaching that speed momentarily whilst overtaking if he had given you a ticket. Easier to do the course though.
