I'm looking to buy some stuff to protect my bike through winter and I've come up with these two. Anyone used either of them? Which is better?

I've only used ACF50, and I can not fault it in the slightest. It doesn't need reapplied very often unless you're actually taking cleaning products to your bike.

+1 for ACF 50. It may take a bit of time to apply thoroughly to the machine but as Muzza says, it does not require re-applying. The F365 is water soluble therefore of little value if using your 'bike during a British winter (or summer!).

Another +1 for ACF50.

I used nearly a full can of it last winter and it seemed to do the trick. Sprayed it into all the nooks and crannies and metal surfaces got a good wipe over with an ACF soaked cloth.

How much is a can of that ACF50? I thought it was pretty expensive.

Must costs a bomb to do a whole aluminium plane like they claim it's designed for Shocked

Usually about £10-12 a can. Lasts a fair while on the bikes though, so it will last more than a year I would expect as there's a fair bit in the can.

ACF50, does better job, stays on all winter, couple of touch up applications. Works out cheaper in long run. Even after bike is summer cleaned stays in nooks and crannys and does its perky protecting job.

Another vote for ACF-50. Bloody awesome stuff. Covered my bike in it last winter, washed it all of in spring to find the bike in exactly the same condition as before.

Nice to find a product that really delivers on its claims.

£350 plus labour and VAT.

It's that much as it subsidised the the 'liberation' of a quantity to sort my bike. Wink

FS365 if you wash the bike frequently, ACF50 if you don't (or just hose it down).

ACF50! Use it on the chrome bits, forks, exhaust and even on electrics, inside switches, light bulb sockets, even in the ignition key hole and other locks (like the top box) and so on. I even put a bit on the contacts of my Scala Rider FM headset for good measure. It's wonderful stuff.

No point washing the bike in winter as it looks like crap 5 minutes later. Just worth keeping the essential bits clean, like lights/mirrors etc. The great thing about ACF50 is that the bike will look like hell, especially the exhaust, but when you do finally wash it, there's a pile of gleaming goodness preserved there. Mr. Green

P.S. I tend to switch to using WD40 in the summer as it's cheaper and I clean the bike a bit more often.
