I just got an MOT on my VFR after buying it from a friend long ago, he must have resprayed it black and red as opposed to white and red as the place that did the MOT said it was showing as red and white.

Just to clarify, i have to get a V5 form and update it to show white and red, along with it being back on the road... I cant insure it while its showing the wrong colour?

Don't you have the V5?

You can change the colour of the bike on section 7 of the V5. Fill it in, sign it and then post it to the DVLA, job done.

Yes i do have the V5.. The one i got sent to me when i changed ownership right? Sorry, first bike...

Okay great, so what do i do now...

I have no idea about the form side of things,.. fill out that part of the form, get it taxed and insured? Im guessing that when i apply for tax they will re register it as being on the road?

Thanks

Yeah that's right, fill out that part of the form, get it taxed (you can tax it before you receive the updated V5 back from the DVLA) and insured then away you go. When you tax it they will re register it as being on the road, assume it's on SORN at the moment.

Last time I sent in a colour change, they sent the V5 back unchanged three times.

I gave up trying. If they want it to be black, fine, that sort of green-looking black, with red wheels.
