HI all just a few questions...

The missus crashed into a bus and knackered her door.

I bought one from some scrappers , i just put on the primer and will be spraying it sometime.

Now how easy/hard is it to fit a door?

My main worry is that i have to take everything out of the old door to fit into the new one as the new one is just a shell. So i gotta take out all the glass , the handles , electrics *etc*

Any tips advice or should i just go along with flow ?

Oh and its a rover metro if that helps Smile

Stripping doors is dead easy, take photos while you are doing it so you can remember what goes where. take your time, stip the old door before you take it off and again replace everything after you have put the new door on.

I may be stating the obvious, but put the stuff on the new door in the reverse order you stripped it from the old one - i.e. the first thing you take off the old door is the last thing you put on the new one. Take notes so you know which order stuff goes in Smile

I can't remember if they bolt on or are held on with pins, have a look and if it is pins start giving them a squirt with wd40 a few days in advance.

Best not to put butter on the fingers, unless your other half likes it that way.

Even if you forget where bits go you can just take the doorcard off the other side and compare it to that. Given it's a metro it's probably the most simple door going, manual window winder, no central locking or mirror electrics etc. Couple of hours work probably.
