Erm, Since the TZR pit became the "TZR Pit bike". I've probably only put £250 into it, Including all the bits I used for the conversion.
But before it was the TZR pit bike, And powered by the 150cc 4t motors.
It was around £300 per engine (I got through 3 of them).

There is £300 worth of suspension on the bike, £150 worth of brakes, £100 worth of frame, £250 worth of wheels, £150 worth of swing arm, plastics and graphics are the real deal, not Chinese shite. The Graphics were nearly £60 and the plastics cost the same again. So £120 all in for that.

So yea, It's easily a £3000 bike by the time you've added on what I paid for it to start with, And then all the little bits like the handle bars, Levers, Cables, Hoses etc. It all adds up.

Funnily enough it doesn't really get that hot.
And my knee isn't really that close to it.

Realistically the radiator gets hotter than the biggest part of the expansion chamber.

Just got back in from a ride.
The bikes juicy to say the least.

Had it up to about 75mph on the motorway, Although I think it was probably going faster than tat because I was flying down the fast lane. Confused

I find I am having to fill up every 20 miles. It's a 3 litre tank, but the last 3/4 litre in the tank cant get used because the carb sits higher than the fuel tap, And it doesn't have a fuel pump.

So realistically I am getting around 20 miles to 2 litre of petrol.
Roughly 40 to the gallon?

Is that about right for an engine like this? it's probably 28bhp.

40 to the gallon is about right.. I get about 120ish miles on a £10 on a dt125re... or 65 miles out of a £5...

If I fit a fuel pump I will get 30 miles on a tank. But because the carb is sitting high, The fuel will only gravity feed 2 Liters of the 3 liter tank.

Not sure what to do really. Might look into making another manifold which sits the carb lower.

Or may hunt for a small fuel pump. I'm sure the Peugeot Speedfights have a fuel pump?

Speedfights work of a vacuum tap, perhaps that would be an easyer option?

And the vacuum comes from?

I am guessing the inlet manifold?

you cant use a vacuum tap, all a vacuum tap is is an automatic fuel tap that when there is a suction it opens a diaphram and lets the fuel flow though, you still need gravity to pull the fuel down, it does not pump the fuel at all.

If you want to use the last bit of fuel in your tank you will need a fuel pump.

Good point there mate, I thought they worked by sucking the fuel out of the tank.

As for getting the last bit of fuel. 1L is ALOT when you only have a 3L tank. Laughing

It's an extra 10 miles on my tank range. Razz

fuel consuption is good Razz y ns125 does 35 to the gallon. but is 22bhp ish at the wheel.

lets be realistic that tzr motor is probally 23-24bhp. as the pipe isnt optimised for the engine and i boubt it has any for of tunning. so 24bhp would be alot tbh

Hi

You can get vacuum fuel pumps. The work by the variation in the vacuum. For example early Yamaha Diversions have them.

Some karts seem to use them:-

All the best

The CRF, I also built from the ground up.
Not really sure on what I've spent, But the spec is quite good, And I'd like to think its probably worth around the £500 mark now.

It's running disk brakes front and rear now. Both hydraulic!
Genuine Thumpstar rear wheel and swinging arm
Honda CRF50 Shock with Red Baron Heavy Spring
Honda CRF50 Upside Down Forks Red Baron +1 kit
Red Baron Billet Top clamp with Oddesy BMX Bars
Xsport front hub laced onto 12" heavy duty rim
Pro-Flex Plastics, Red Baron Graphics
Red Baron unbreakable gear shifter
Talon sprockets, Iris Racing chain
Five0 heavy duty billet footpegs
Posh racing billet 1/4 turn throttle
Posh Racing billet tank cap
High rise Honda seat

The list probably goes on, Just cant really think atm.

It's an awesome little bike!

Okay...

It's a bit of a touchy area. Absolutely NOTHING compares going out on the TL1000R, And just having all that torque, on tap.

I mean, realistically, NO car will ever beat it. Unless I come face to face with a ridiculous, over powered skyline.

However, You pull up at a set of lights on the TL1000R. And the only time you will EVER get anybody try to race. Is if its another bike. 600cc+.

Now my TZR Pit bike, Will easily shake off most cars at the traffic lights.
Believe it or not.

I've pissed off a few sports bikes on it too.

It's a bit of a hard one to answer. But if I had to get rid of one. Then I'd keep the TZR pit bike. Simply because I know there is not another one like it! And I probably wont own anything as crazy as the TZR again.

That said, The TL1000R is probably worth somewhat between £2200 and £2400 in the height of summer.

I'd like to think the TZR Pit is worth around the £1200 mark. It just depends on who wants to buy it.

I've turned down a £1500 offer. Weather the guy was being serious or not, I dunno, He seemed pretty keen on buying it but I just refused to let it go.

I'd rather keep it than accept an offer like that.

The bike is getting KTM SX65 forks fitted next week.
And an Ohlins rear shock in the near future. Thumbs Up
