Just wanted to tell u all that i am the latest victim to fall off my NSR in this forum. I was out on the 19 of July with my two mates we were all going for it a bit as you do on a sunny day well heres what happened I was driving in the middle of the three of us we somehow lost the person at the back so us front two stopped in a gravel lay bye well my mate pulled in a good few seconds in front of me just about seen a big ditch about 1 meter onto the lay bye stopped reversed and went past it. i didn’t see him do that I pulled into the lay bye and didn’t see the ditch till I was too close touched my brakes and the front wheel went sideways and my bike landed on the floor it broke the indicator cracked the fairing and it has loads of scratches on it the annoying thing was I was only doing about 5 mph when it fell (at least I fell b4 the ditch that could of hurt me + the bike even more). now i know not to use the front brake on gravel but if i didnt the bike would of been in the ditch oh by the way the ditch was about two feet wide and 1 foot deep Sad

You may be able to claim against the coucil for the accident. If there was a ditch in the layby it should have been marked to inform people that it was there. It's worth checking into via the Citizens Advice Beurau.

Oh, and sorry to hear that the forum curse has struck again (is now considering leaving the forum and joining somewhere else!) Shocked

Hi

Sorry to hear about the mishap. I agree with PsychoHippy, and I would suggest that you go along ASAP and take some photos of the gravel and ditch

All the best

Keith

I know what you mean mate, I binned my RGV about a week ago on some mud left on the road, the road being my work's drive of all places! I'm trying to get compensation but the bastard managers are being bastards.

I snapped the mirror, brake lever and wrecked the fairing but its still rideable with a new lever, so not a complete disaster just annoying Evil or Very Mad

I already thought about claiming but it turns out that the lay bye was unofficial and is some type of farmers opening the bastard probably put the ditch their on purpose and he will be pissing himself when he sees indicator glass everywhere. + the lay bye is bout 150 miles away in the south of Wales. Well it looks like its up to me to bodge the repairs up I cant afford to get them done properly. arr well shit happens Mad
