My usual routine is to get the bike out chuck on my lid and gloves ride it round to the front yard do my checks and put the rest of my gear on ........

untill today...................

Was in a rush got the bike out threw on my lid and gloves went to take it to the front yard gave it a bit of a rev and the back end just disapeared from under me like i was on ice.........

Seems my loobman pipe has come loose putting a big pool of oil over the rear tyre (dunlop sportsmax)

GUTTED

Hit the deck at under 10mph slid for a second then stopped
1st thought BOLLOX
2nd thought Feck the wee is heavy
3rd thought I broked my bicycle

One heave later and we were back on our feet and all i can say is thank **** for motec engine guards.
Gonna need an

Indicator,
Front fairing,
Left front fairing,
Moteck crash guard center piece,
Mirror,
Left hand guard,
left footpeg,
Shift Leaver,
Recoat the back rack,

also knocked my stebel off. Shocked

All that at less than 7-8 mph

Injurys...

scraches on my
knee
hip
elbow

Probably would of ripped my hands to bits if i never had the gloves on YAY for safety nazi me Evil or Very Mad

Shocker mate, glad theres nothing terminal there though. This is why I removed my scottoiler, one less thing to worry about and no horrible piece of jigerry pokery with poor self discipline hanging near my rear tyre full on slippery stuff.

Rip it out and stamp it into the deck, you know you want to Laughing

HAHA you cunt Very Happy

I lost the most important thing of all MY PRIDE:D I always expected that if i were to come off it would be going overboard scraping the pegs or something i could tell an epic story about..... instead i fell on my arse barely out of the gate.

On a plus note only one neighbour saw me Thumbs Up So i suppose i can still tell an epic story to all my mates about my race with a ferrari with the police helicopter in tow and having to skid my bike at 100mph under the trailer of a hgv before righting the bike to escape and riding into the sunset Twisted Evil HAHA

If it broke at this speed, find a better system!
Mirror,
Left hand guard,

left footpeg,
Shift Leaver, Drill and bolt.
Recoat the back rack,

I dropped my KTM on gravel the other day, similar speed. Put some scratches in my new £550 tank and broke a clutch lever (which cost £35 to replace with a normal-length one Shocked - needless to say I'm using a cheap shorter one) bike still rides just as well, so am not bothered Smile.

Erm, incidentally, it looks like your peg bracket may be a little bent? Should just bend back I expect, but worth looking at if you haven't.

I dropped a work mates ZX9R the other day. It's going to need a new side fairing and this occurred at about 1 mile an hour.

Bit different to my old ER5 when the bike and I hit the ground at 30 and all that needed replacing was a £15 mirror and a bit of heat to straighten rear brake lever. The ER5 had R&Gs.

My Z has R&Gs and they saved it from a similar fall (failed U turn) about 2 years back, the R&Gs took the impact, but the small engine casing got broke (Zs are renowned for this). The casing cost £16 to replace.

Which gets me back to faired bikes, they are sooo expensive to repair compared to a naked and the replacement panel cost of £333 has put me off faired bikes for ever.

G

Thumbs Up i know the footpeg bracket is bent im gonna try heating it up and sticking it in a vice. The shifter its just the footpiece that has broke so your idea should work Thanks mate if i ever see you ill buy you a beer Mr. Green Thumbs Up

At first i thought the sm motec engine guards had done a good job. After the adrenaline wore off i thought if i had been going any quicker they would of done more damage than good. On closer inspection they had bent into the exhaust manifold and oil cooler... needless to say im not to impressed. Thumbs Down

After morning feeling .... depressed.... my babys sick and my leg stuck to the bedsheets last night had to get it off with a spoon and water Laughing

Big thanks to all the responses of sympathy all i got from my mum sister and Gf was have you learned your lesson will you get rid now HAHAHA NEVER ..... you guys made me feel a bit better anyway haha Thumbs Up
