I'm writing this from my hotel room in Blbao waiting for the ferry so I thought I'd just pass on this little gem for anyone hitting the motorways in Spain...
I had to get from Barcelona to Bilbao to catch the ferry tomorrow. It's 370 miles so I thought I'd have to bite the bullet and pay for the motorways.
1. It's fcuking expensive - 63 euros in petrol and 57 euros in motorway charges.
2. But, I got to the toll gate in Zaragossa and the girl took my ticket and stuck it in the machine. next minute a cop walked over and pulled me out of the queue. To cut a long story once he found I was english and he could speak good english, he told me I could be done for an average speed well over the 120km/hr allowed. He told me to pull over to the side, wait 15 minutes and then go through the barrier again, and my number had been noted and next time I would be fined for speeding. (bullshit or not, I don't know)
I did make sure I stopped for a cuppa on each section after that, but take care over here if you use the motorways peeps. ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |
