Just come back from the Tail End BMF & I've got to say that I was a bit disappointed. Sad

(Un)Fortunately, I live in Peterborough so no hassle for me.

Was lookin for the end of season 'bargains' but couldn't really find any unless it was RST!!!

Is this the new Frank Thomas as it was on nearly EVERY single stall!!

IMO a wasted £14-00!! Evil or Very Mad

P.S - Completely different if you've gone up there for the weekend to meet friends etc & everything else is just a sideshow! Cool

I've been debating whether to go or not, £14 is a lot of money to wander around for a couple of hours eating overpriced burgers.

I think most if not all bike shows are crap tbh. Only reason I go is to meet up with mates, definitely not for the 'bargains'.

The general feeling is that its got worse and worse over the last 5 years or so, to the point where its not even worth going for bargains anymore!

Did I hear that this was the last one that will be held at the showground?

First year I went (2006) it was superb, the old bike bits section (bike jumble) went on for miles with tons of fairings etc. went last year in need of a new side panel and it was about 15 stalls of utterly useless crap. Didn't even bother going this autumn.

I popped down on Saturday for a few hours, didn't think it was that bad...pretty much the same as the main bmf show.

I guess it depends what you need as far as bargains go, i found a couple of parts in the autojumble that i've not been able to find on ebay...

I went to the Spring one this year, on a Saturday, and what I have realised is, if you are after bargains, you MUST go first thing Saturday morning. By Saturday lunch time anything decent was already gone.

I managed to get a 1peice Arlen Ness suit for £300, and the cheapest I've seen them is £630 online, J&S have them for £700.

There are bargains...but only go if you've got something specific in mind, if your just going there to buy 'stuff' then it's not really worth it...unless you want a day out watching some racing etc in the arena and just chilling in the sun Thumbs Up

Hi

The autojumble at the BMF shows seems to have dropped right off. Used to be really good, but not is pretty small and poor. Worse than the Uttoxeter classic bike show for example.

We did think about going this year to the tail end show but landed up not bothering. And we missed the main show as we were busy that weekend.

All the best

Keith

...but if you go for something specific and it isn't there or not the bargain you're expecting then it's a waste of time and money.

I've found this with the Rufforth auto-jumble (1st Saturday of the month, near York).
Last time I went it was about £3 per person, which I think was a rip-off then (for car load of 4).
They didn't even charge per car and they'd charge that even if you walked in.

So after going a couple of times for specific items and found nothing, either because it wasn't there, traders didn't bring it or traders not even turning up I've given up.

As said above, if a day out with mates then ok, but as far as shopping and browsing is concerned, IMO forget it.
