There was an SP370, the engine for which was latterly taken out to 400.

Old-school twinshock wheelie machine.

Invariably now thrashed to within an inch of their lives. I think they put the same engine in the GN400

hi,
thanks stinkwheel.
i managed to find out a little about it by searching t'internet.
remember the 370 & the other bigger versions but couldnt remember the 400.
some guy was selling an mtx with the sp400 engine in it & i was curious.
but it seems a bit pointless when it seemingly only puts out 30bhp, whereas the 200 2 stroke mtx engine slots straight in & puts out 28 bhp.
tis probably lighter as well.
& seeing as it was only out in around 1980, most likely, like you say, thrashed within an inch of its life.
cheers,
GAZ
