Oh yes, in two weeks time me and my good friend are jetting off for the 'dam.. Cool

Aiming to go on the 2nd of October and come back on the 4th, spending 2 nights in the 'dam. Very Happy

But before I get too happy I want to make sure ive got the best deal really.. Confused

My mate hasn't got any licenses (bike/car) and all ive got a 250cc atm so we can't ride over there...

We managed to sort the flights/hotel for £200 all in... Thumbs Up

Worked out as:
£85 for 2 nights in the hotel
£115 for the flights..

Thats for both of us of course.. Question

i thought this was a good deal as initially the price was about £350 but if theres a cheaper deal then please post up! Very Happy

But as the BCF is the source of all knowledge for these sort of things.... i wanted to check a few things with you guys.

Firstly.. spending money.. Rolling Eyes

Initially we were spending 300 to get over there, and 300 to spend.. now its 200 to fly out and stay and 400 to spend... I'm told its extremely expensive over there..

I don't really plan on returning to Amsterdam anytime soon (and am extremely suprised the missus agreed to this!) so i wish to have the BEST time possible Wink

Best way i can think of doing this is if i explain what i 'know' and you guys can tell me where im wrong!

Beers are expensive, around 7 euros (£5) each..

The Blue lights should be avoided at all times (trannys)

I've heard the red light district has triple floored houses, the ground floor 'glass' doors being the most expensive, although Superstacker has told me its 50euros for a 'suck and fuck'.

No cameras allowed in the Red light district..

Thats all for now, feel free to tell me whether the above is true/false Karma will be awarded to those who are helpful..

Questions:

What is 'big black momma alley'?? I wont look for it unless i know what it is... or what its for Wink

Space cakes.. ive heard these aren't that available anymore as people now buy 'joints' rather than the cakes.. is this true??

Any clubs/places of interest worth checking out??

Thanks all! Thumbs Up

Beer is expensive, but only stupid people go to Amsterdam to drink alcohol so that shouldn't be a problem.

Big black momma alley is an alley with lots of big black mommas in the windows or with the windows open trying to get business. You'll know it if you find it. Laughing

No reason why you won't be able to buy space cakes.

Places of interest worth checking out; Barneys, Grey Area, Abraxas, Greenhouse Effect, De Dampkring and Rockerij. Plus, you should go to Dutch Flowers just to see the bar guy who's an arsehole. Laughing

Thanks for the reply...

Well the hotels been booked at 85 quid.. no better price on that.. was thinking of spending an extra 20 and getting a hotel in the red light district... but i wouldn't get ANY sleep and probably end up blind Wink

Still negotiating the flight... would booking a flight nearer the time give us a better deal?? Or would it be wiser to just stick with the 115 and book now??

Wink

Dude seems like you're being ripped off compared to when I went a month ago.

We paid £90 for 3 nights at the Bulldog Hotel (one of the best in Amsterdam, really commercial but AMAZING rooms and a roof terrace with a bar to smoke up/drink on)
Paid £68 through Flybe for a return flight.
Took £300 and tried to stick to the £100 a day which worked quite well. Since there is just two of you take it in turns buying substances and other fun stuff like shrooms/truffles.

I'd personally say stay away from the sex side of things and just have an amazing trip with drugs, I've never had a lack of sex though so would never warrant paying for it. Others aren't so lucky though so if you're going to be having sex over there budget a lot bigger. Smile

Dampkring was an awesome little place to be when you're really high, the monitors stuck in the wall really tripped me out in a good way. Hillstreet was another awesome cafe where the staff ended up giving us free drinks in return for letting them smoke up with us, seemed so normal at the time but now I look at it was epic! haha. We also found a little place that was primarily a shisha bar but the guy kept putting our weed and his weed in the shisha pipe and sessioning it up with us, was amazing.

Another tip would be avoid alcohol because it's so expensive and instead drink tea/coffee in shops, it's the perfect pick me up when you've been smoking up non-stop.

I went in 2003 in those good old times when the pound was worth more than a 99 cents so the heineken export flowed freely.

My advice would be when you get there:

Do: Take a few deep breaths, relax, have a meal and take your time.

Don't: Turn up dehydrated after 8 hours driving, go running off like a kid in a theme park, neck 6 pints of lager, smoke pure skunk cones, buy a punnet of the strongest shrooms on sale and then spend 5 hours on your back in a dark caravan in a strange campsite simply trying not to swallow your tongue which feels like an electric slug after spewing purple vomit.

Still kicking myself. Sick

^^ Agree totally with this!

Don't ask for the strongest stuff they have or all you will remember is getting to the hotel and maybe getting on the plane home. I was so fucked from smoking 1 joint that I couldn't move. Crazy green.

Also if your on a budget and don't mind looking like a tramp then check the bins at the airport as 100's of people will buy way to much weed smoke it on the way to the airport and throw the rest in the airport bins before boarding the plane.

We did the same, almost 3 ounces dissapeared from our group into those bins.

And enjoy, should be awesome!!

Going to amsterdam is a bit of a bad idea if you can't handle strong weed.

Everyone knows you're meant to smoke your left over weed outside the airport. Mr. Green

Don't go throwing weed in the bin, that's just fucking stupid as throwing 3 ounces away is throwing away more than 500 euros and that's 17 individual purchases from coffeeshops. Laughing

EasyJet are much cheaper when booked early, much the same with all other budget air lines.

Book months ahead to get the best price. Thumbs Up

Not really about handling strong weed, as their half way stuff can be pretty bonkers... the silly stuff they have is just OTT.

A universal sign is needed so that people arriving know who's got a load of gear left on them to sell rather than bin the lot, the seller sells it on a little cheaper ( rather make a few quid back than lose the lot ) and the buyer gets it a little cheaper so can spend less time sourcing it straight away seeing as they've just arrived...

Suppose then though you'd have dealers posing as tourists selling on cheap shitty gear at the normal price...

Hookers are 50 euros a pop and well worth it.

If you're going to be smoking all day then keep off the strong stuff unless you know you can handle it. Few puffs of it destroyed me and I had an experience similar to akaDAVE.

We sat around smoking mild hash all day, which was pleasant. Standing up was a struggle, but you need to stand up to go see your hooker.

There is a bar that you can hire which is on wheels and takes you around the city. You just get smashed while your going round
