Pets yes, snakes no. I went to look at a place a few years back, was lovely, the missus loved it too. Told the guy (private, not an agent, mind) we had a cat and he looked a bit glum. So, I said that if, on inspection when we leave, there are any signs of use by the pet (like hair or fleas) I would sort it. I said I'm happy to have this in the contract, and he went for it no problem.
Private landlords are much easier to deal with as you're getting face-to-face, but agents are probably all pond-dwelling simpletons and getting your point across will be like trying to milk lego bricks.
IMHO a snake is much the same as a fish*, to a landlord.
(* nb: if the fecker escapes and eats a neighbour's kid, I can see that becoming a little untrue) |

I always thought it was the smell and the hair deep in carpets, furnishings that was the issue (and so cats and dogs really) - I would tell them up front, I can't see it being a problem. ____________________ CBR125|||GSXR400|||CBR400|||CBR400|||CB250RS|||GSXR750|||CB250RS

I'd just tell them, I think most would be fine with snakes, at least then you know you're not going to get kicked out after a few months.
I've rented from two agents that were fine, popped round every few months to check the place was still standing said hi and then left.
The other was really over the top, claimed they needed 45 mins to carry out an inspection of the house every 3 months, walked around with a clip board asking all kinds of questions. Seemed to think there was secret people living there as we had 2 motorbikes, a van and 3 cars, but only 3 people ____________________ Yamaha FZR400RR 3tj
