It's windows xp. Absolute crap. 120gb of the stuff to be honest. I don't want to format it , too many good films....

Caked up to the eyeballs in anti virus software and it seems to do nothing. Always something wrong with this damn thing. Think I should sell it and by another bike

Well, all I can say is that my XP system which is patched up to date is very stable. I leave it on 24/7 and it generally only requires a reboot once a month.

As well as viruses, I suggest you run AdAware to check for spyware.

Also do Start -> Run -> msconfig and disable any startup items you don't want or can't identify.
