Oddly enough, I do. There's a set sitting just downstairs.
The total area of pad material on each shoe is 115 x 24mm. However, each end of the friction material is chamfered to prevent grabbing.
The actual area of friction material that contacts the drum will depend on how much chamfer there is and how worn the pad is. I usually make a bit more of an obtuse angle at the leading edge so it tapers slowly up to the working part of the pad with some course emery paper because I don't think there is enough of a chamfer.
The one I measured is down to the wear limit and has 98 x 24mm of working pad material in contact with the drum. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |
