Hey everyone,

I have been lurking for a while so I thought I would sign up as this forum is full of useful info. Basically I am thinking about getting a bike again. I passed my CBT at 16 and bought a crappy chinese moped thing that broke, I ended up not riding and my CBT expired. So I passed my car test and drove for about a year but then went to college and couldn't afford it anymore. Now I am at university my bus commute is so expensive I figured I would get back into the biking world. So I'm going to take my CBT in October (hopefully) and get myself on a CG, GS, etc and then take my DAS at 21.

Thanks,

Prog.

Hello Smile

Welcome to bcf!

I have had a similar idea to you as well- Im finding the car rather expensive to travel to uni everyday so I'm in the middle of doing my A2 (cheaper and couple other reasons) and hoping to get a bike the beginning of next year- will be much cheaper on fuel, parking, and wont have to pay for the toll bridge lol

I would highly recommend the cg, lovely bike Thumbs Up

Thanks Claire, well I figured out that it costs me £100 max a month on the bus to get to university and thats not including travelling further afield for placements. So I reckon in a year it will cost about £1k by bus. And I can get on a bike for that sort of money.

Plus you'll get the enjoyment of riding a bike and not having to wait around for the bus lol

The course Im on has placements too, generally lasting for three months each. My last one would have been lovely to go up and down on with a bike but never mind lol Always the next one Smile

Anyway, enjoy your cbt and bike hunting!

Thanks, at a guess are you doing social work? My placements are only a week long, sometimes just random days scattered all over the place. And they can be up to an hour and a half from where I am, so the bike makes sense.

So are you on a cg at the moment or are you waiting until you pass your test to get a bigger bike?

Nope, havent got a bike at the moment. (due to being broke Laughing ) I had the choice of getting a 125 or paying for the training and do my test. So decided to get my test out of the way and get a bike for next year.
My other half has done his cbt and A2 training on a cg which is a lovely bike whereas I have been using a yamaha sr. Out of the two, a cg is better by far lol A lot better fuel economy and a better ride I think Smile

I dont think you can go far wrong with suzuki- its a very good make. Just had a quick look around online, they seem to be very good 4 strokes with a strong build and cheap insurance group Thumbs Up
