So finally someone else is going to be getting the iPhone.

You think this will finally get O2 to sort out their data network, or finally get a price drop brought in?

I just think that it means that Orange are going to put out bloody expensive contacts the same as O2.

This has left me with a bit of a conundrum?

I'm with 02 and due an upgrade, I want the iphone but have held of getting one because I aware O2s contract with Apple came up review in October and did not want to risk getting one only for it to become freely available to every network a few weeks down the line.

Now with Orange getting rights the the iphone I'm not sure whether there's going to be price war or not? The thing I did not like about 02 was that it did not matter whether you were a long serving customer or a brand new one, the rates for the iphone were the same!

Orange are just as bad (or worse) for this. If you are a long serving customer then they do not care about you. If you are someone who threatens to leave and will jump around to other companies then they will fall over themselves trying to give you a better deal. Eg, with an expired contract they will not let me transfer to a cheaper deal without having to take out a fresh 18 month contract even if I do not want another phone.

This is why I am hacked off with Orange and will leave them soon.

All the best

Keith

My dad has been with orange since they started. 17 odd years now I think he said. He called up to change his contract and they said because he had been with them for so long he got a huge discount. He pays £5 a month for 600mins and 100 texts and a free crappy phone and its only 12 months.

Orange are good to haggle with though. You tell them someone else is cheaper. I like little touches they have e.g. when I called to ask about some text I had got off them, at the end of the call they would just say,

"oh would you like 100 free texts?
sorry?
would you like 100 free texts sir?
yes I would
ok they have been added, have a nice day.
awesome!"

Interesting to know. Thanks. I have been with them for 15 years.

Threaten to leave and they will get on their knees to keep you.

Slight problem there is that I feel annoyed that they are pushing me to be dishonest in threatening to leave.

What will I do with myself I wonder!

My thoughts are when your iphone contract with o2 is up will o2 then unlock the phone so you can go to another network?

So in a year when mines up I might want to go back to vodafone will o2 unlock my iphone for me or will I be left to fanny around and unlock it myself?

On orange you have 250 MB of data free if you have the internet package.

Not sure what o2 is.
