So I recently got myself a bike a CBR 125 2004 for 8000 miles on the clock its in really good condition apart from the odd paint chip.

As Ive just started riding a make mistakes every so often usually and Im not going to deny it showing off outside college Embarassed its pretty lame I know. Such as today I accidentally manged to make a clutch less up change into second

Basically Im asking what sort of damage can red lining it cause? Serious Damage? I accidentally red lined it the other day when doing a take over.

The other thing I have done is when moving it up from first into second accidentally not putting it in gear properly!

Its a brilliant little bike and I really like it! The only bad thing I have noticed is the fact it sometimes pops out of gear its usually when in fourth or fith? I cant work out if its me accidently knocking the gear change or not Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

keep ya feet further back on the pegs, so the balls of your feet are on them and poke them outwards

As long as it's warm when you red line the motor it doesn't hurt it. Just don't do it from cold.

They are a fun little bike if you accept them for what they are. I've still got mine post test and its my Mon-Fri commuter, knockabout around town bike.

I used to frequently knock it into neutral when changing from 1st to second, usually on a busy roundabout. Probably just needs a good firmer boot to second.

Also mine used to fall out of second into neutral after changing up and giving it some revs. I recall a review saying there was a long way between 1st and second on the CBR125 gearbox. I dont recall any problem between 4th and 5th tho.

Compared to the gearbox on the SV the little Honda gearbox feels like its made out of cocoa tins.

Why does everyone under the age of 20 on here start their posts with "so" Brick Wall

Anyway, sensible choice of first bike, buy a haynes manual and learn how to look after it and it should see you right Thumbs Up
