Well just completed a 320 Mile journey on my trusty YBR 125 and I think I have fallen even more in love with the thing. It just kept going and going without so much as a hiccup. I went from London to Chepstow (Wales) avoiding the motorways (on 'L' plates). The entire round trip took about 9 hours.

I officially know what saddle soreness is, and the pain that you get when hitting every small little bump in the road. Amazing how small bumps will eventually bring lower back pain, arse pain, and wrist stiffness. But it was a fantastic journey, and I am looking forward to doing it all again, but this time on a bike that can go faster than 60mph.

Well just thought I would share my weekend with you all.. Below is a map of my journey.

God that sounds like a pretty long trip. The longest trip I ever attempted (on a 50cc twist and go) was only about 50 miles. Glad you enjoyed it though. Got anymore trips planned?

That certainly is an epic journey! I've gone a bit further but that was on a very quiet M4 where I discovered that my SV would happily do ("an entirely legal speed, with two digits" -legal Ed.) two-up so it didn't take half the time.

I bet you had better scenery going cross-country like that, though.

Yeah the M4 was tantlisingly close to me at some points of the trip but even if I was allowed to get on it I would have been bored shitless at 60mph the whole way.

The A and B roads were amazing. Some parts of them had brilliant windy roads and parts where you drop down into various valleys. Also had the sun shining on me which was really nice and had my Ipod on the whole time listening to some great tunes... Noticed that the long way round song by the Stereophonics is brilliant for making you feel like Charlie and Ewan Cool

The next trip I plan on doing will be on the Fazer when I pass my test. As fun as it was it did leave me in pain, and very tired. I would reccommend doing that trip though on a bigger bike and taking your time with it. Passed some pretty interesting things, and the countryside was lovely.

My next trip will be a journey around Wales!!

Nice trip, how many times did you stop? I feel dead after 60 miles. Shocked Very Happy

How did you cross the severn, I thought both crossings were motorway routes?

Stopped once on the way there to get Petrol, and once on the way back for petrol. Did stop a number of times to read a map to figure out where to go but never got off my bike.

I thought the same about the sevrn bridge but there is a cycle path/walkers path to the left of the bridge that I was told allowed smaller bikes to cross the bridge. I took that across... dunno if I was supposed to, but it cut 30mins off my journey!!

Well done mate, looks a interesting ride, I've been contemplating trying to get a few fellow L plate warriors together for a week end ride out somewhere with an over night stop at a b and b for a few beers and a chin wag

Lol, stopped only twice for petrol...now that my friend you can only do on a ybr or CG. The fuel consumption on these is so low i sometimes think my fuel gauge is broken. Very Happy I've got a CG125 and the longest trip i've done is London - Ramsgate which was a lovely ride. Congratulations on your journey. Post a picture of the bike Smile

wow, pretty long trip to be on a 125 Shocked ! the furthest i've been on the wee Gs is about 130 miles going from chester up to the lakes. That took me about 5 hours although i'd had a few the night before so ended up stopping a fair few times Sick lol also being 6ft 3, i kinda dont really fit on the gs. i also know whatcha mean with the saddle sore, theres way too many potholes on british roads Evil or Very Mad
Fuel consumption's great on these 125's, i filled up before i went and didn't need to fill up till i was about 60 miles away (on the way back)
U goin for your test anytime soon?

Rob Thumbs Up

Nice one! Thumbs Up

My longest journey was probably about the same distance. I went all the way to Cambridge and back on my CG125 Smile Also 9 hours!

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston?

Nice bike mate Smile add a screen to your bike man, honestly it will transform the whole bike. I bought a givi a660 screen for my Cg and it's the best thing ever. I now sit at 65mph so comfortable it's untrue. Long jurneys are enjoyable...Adama I totally agree Very Happy

I'm very jealous! My next big journey that I'm planning is from where I live to Ireland and back a week later. I'm hoping it proves to be an awesome adventure for me.

And Adrian, where can I get a screen for my CG? That sounds fantastic!
