Ever had a bike you didn't quite......gel with?

I'm not sure what it is, the bike itself has nothing wrong with it, very comfy, handles brilliantly, looks ace, has lots to offer.
(although could do with a bit more grunt)

I don't know why, but i'm lusting after something else already, i normally like a change but at least not for a while.

I've wanted a buell xb9/xb12 for a few years now, every time i look at one i just think hmmmmmm.

It just doesn't have that effect when i open the garage which says, go on - no where to go just ride anywhere for a bit.

On the other hand though.....

Drooling secks.

With "fun" bikes......it`s always the look that i`m first attracted to.Much the same as you,if it doesn`t flick my switch when i open the garage door i wont keep it very long.
If the buell gives you "the calling"....buy one Wink

(just make sure you test ride it first)

If it were as simple as 'buy one' i would go do so tomorrow.

But as it is i have a bike here i need to sell for as much as i can buy a xb9, otherwise its a no no.

I get that with my CBR600 to be honest, it does everything well but somehow it's never really captured my imagination. I've been toying with selling it ever since buying it but then I hammer down a country road and start liking it again as it's the best handling bike I've owned Rolling Eyes

Vee, make up your mind buddy!

Don't buy an XB9, you'll regret it. Stick with a 12 or nothing.

Just to add to your pain, here's a pic of two lightnings (from the southeast tag thread)

Lacking in grunt compared to the 12, and early Buells quality control was a bit dippy.

I think what you are feeling is called the Honda effect Wink

OK I've only had 3 bikes but in all honesty the Honda was the best one but it just didn't have that special thing that makes you think 'yeah Cool ' every time you see it

(no offence to Honda owners they are great bikes Laughing )

And Busas sound like a UJM (universal Japanese Motorcycle) whereas the Buell sounds like god sneezing, if he existed.

I guess that's where my limited biking experience kicks in Laughing

BTW This might be a stupid question but why does that Buell have a single disc up front?

Also have you considered a Monster S2/4R or 1100? Very Happy

Because the disc is a larger area, i.e. the size of the rim, it can supply more stopping power, hence the need for only one.

A couple. My GT550 - I part exchanged my XJ900F in for it, and whilst it was a good bike in its own right, I missed the grunt of the 900, the fairing, and was never happy with the tapping sound coming from the top end ("They all do that, sir" Rolling Eyes)

Also my current bike, a CB500. It's a good all rounder, it's excellent for the commute and popping over to see friends, but it doesn't make me want to get up early on a Sunday and just point it somewhere, like the Enfield did.
